I guess this is the last time we'll hear it then and it was a great choice of a moment! If the last time really was S2, it was after the scene where Historia was talking to Ymir and said something similar to "If I'm with you, I'm not afraid of anything", not sure.
I love when Jean talks with Armin/Mikasa/Connie about how the ones who benefit most from Eren’s genocide are them, MAPPA gave us the flashback of Eren saying “because you guys are important to me, more than anyone else.” Nice touch
Can’t be the only who thinks the animation was way better in this episode. The ODM gear scenes were so clean

At least with option 1 you have all the time in the world to find a cure or ask for her to be the theoretical next shifter since you were a front line soldier.

She only realized it in the cabin with Falco and Colt when her life and the ppl she loves was in danger…just like how the eldians felt when marley sent titans. THAT’s realistic. It took a moment where she was literally in their shoes to understand them.
@@JRY17 lol it ain’t forced bro. People are products of their environment. Gabi was a product of ceaseless brainwashing by Marley since the day she was born. With little exposure to the outside world, all she believed was that the people on the island were devils. That’s what she was taught at school and at home. The combination of being brainwashed at such a young age and living in a bubble is a recipe for being ignorant and stubborn as a person. And that’s the Gabi we saw earlier on. Her upbringing doesn’t absolve her from the fucked up shit she did as she’s still responsible for her actions. But it does make the audience understand why she thought/acted the way she did before her enlightenment.

Gabi becomes truly unjustifiable when she refuses to alter her views of the people of Paradis even after she had lived amongst them and had been shown kindness by people she saw as "devils". She didn’t reach enlightenment straight off the bat. Despite living with Sasha’s family, knowing about her, she refused to acknowledge them as people. However, Gabi truly begins to change when Sasha’s father, even after knowing of her crime, refuses to let her get harmed. This kindness, or rather altruism, from a person who had, in Gabi’s views, every right to kill her, changes her perception of what humanity is, and who the people of this island are. See, the way I see it is that the amount of time it took for Gabi to reach enlightenment is relatively irrelevant when compared to the accumulation of the little acts of love, mercy and compassion the people of Paradis showed her despite who she was and what she did. It’s the little things that matter. In the anime, we initially see a stubborn Gabi with tunnel-vision then as she continues to experience these little acts of kindness from the islanders she endures an internal struggle between reality (what she’s experiencing in Paradis) and fiction (what she was taught growing up). We witness as she goes through the growing pains and layers upon layers of her character are peeled off until episode 77 when she fully verbalizes her realization. Upon hearing Sasha’s parents worry about her, and Kaya expressing a desire to kill her, Gabi comes to the understanding that the people of Paradis are just that. They’re people. This makes her understand Reiner’s point of view, which Falco has always understood. The anime did a pretty decent job showing her character development given the time constraints of events in season 4, in my opinion.
you can't blame connie for being selfish when eren is out here trying to commit global genocide exactly for a selfish reason, to protect the people he cares about. if eren can do that, why can he feed one kid to save the one he cares about? the writing is gold.

the soldiers vs the titans was my fave part, it feels nostalgic Plus the music they were playing in that scene.. and Jean being the commander is so cool to see as well

I recall a quote from Commander Pyxis from the first season, may he rest in peace: "Humanity required an enemy GREATER than itself just to survive."
Erin then replies: "I guess it means that some day we'd all have to join forces."
Pyxis is such a brilliant character for this reason. Essentially foreshadowing the peak climax of the show: the beginning of the rumbling.
Little did we know then, that the enemy greater than humanity, would have been Erin himself. And now it seems that the only way for the innocent not to suffer, all nations must join forces against all odds, to put the world at ease.

Regardless if you're more emotional or more logical, there is a selfishness that comes with a lack of either. Like how Erwin and Levi were willing to sacrifice soldiers and lives for humanity. What they did was immoral and selfish but it was a choice made almost SOLELY with logic in mind. Connie's actions are driven solely by emotion. Both are somewhat justifiable but can go too far without processing the other side.

I had a few problems with thise ep/chapther. Like the Connie scene felt rushed it didint really matter plot of the story and when armin says killing falco will make reiner and the cart titan more pissed at us why does that matter the world is gonna be destroyed anyways and the ending where armin said "wait if all the hardening is all undone annie is probably free" like why does that matter the world is gonna be DESTROYED!!!!!! And most people agree the chapter with connie felt rushed and bad.
