I totally agree with Vic. I was pondering the whole sub vs dub argument earlier. I came to realize (like Vic). It calms down to the point that we all enjoy watching anime. As long as the story comes across clearly, then we shouldn't fight amongst ourselves for a small part of anime.
Agreed, I always get axed down by people since I prefer english, so naturally my defensive system kicks in and ax them back for liking the japanese, I know I shouldn't do that, but it just doesn't seem fair to me that they do it in the first place. I think it is honestly that others want to tarnish him for unjust reasons and all he has ever done is to remain true to his fans. I honestly try to get all the facts before I say something but that's exactly what's happening.
Vic is awesome to his fans. And why wouldn't he be. So far he's the only Voice actor to reply to any fan mail I've sent him. This is not to say I don't like other voice actors but he really takes the time to pay attention to his fans, and he's really sweet to them, even if we are a bunch of crazy yaoi fangirls.

i seriously love vic, my friends have met him and have said he's really sweet and from what i see on here it also confirms it. i like yaoi and im cool with vic not liking it, his decision. people always want to make up serious crap about anyone becuase they can. with some of the characters he done, ed and tamaki to be two examples, there's the high chance of yaoi pairings, but he deals with it for his fans

If, for some odd reason, I had decided to try to convince a man who doesn't like yaoi to sign a piece for me and he had declined, I would have pulled out my con book, or a piece of official merchandise and asked him to sign that. Maybe he didn't offer to sign something else, you weren't exactly clear about that in your original post. All we got was (paraphrased) "He refused to sign my image because of the content."

I only prefer subs if either the dub is bad or the original show was way too heavily localized (think 4kids) and doesn't have an uncut version. But I think Vic has a good point about how some Japanese shows also has bad dubs (haven't seen one such example personally yet though).
@Asheill Yeah. And really, there are quite a few anime that I prefer/preferred the sub of. One Piece before Funimation bought the rights to it comes to mind. However, there are some shows, such as Ouran High School Host Club, that I loved the dub of. I think that show did a pretty good job in translating some of the humor.
Yeah, lol. it's a bit different for me. I welcome those people to find errors in what I think. I can tell when others are lying or being honest and the feeling when I met Vic was that he was genuine. I just think the weaker agitators are afraid of the ones with real evidence.

@skyartist2fine Well considering he pulled off the line about men in the Olympics competing in the buff... Maybe the whole Fai debacle sort of put a damper on his "I spoke to the creator and the character is straight," thing. Honestly, I love Vic as Ed, but that was going a wee bit too far.
Thank you God. Thank you Vic. He couldn't have argued it more eloquently and precise. I don't like yaoi (though I am a strait boy) but I know people who do and they don't bother me. I have only watched subbed on one show and its a show called Reborn! but I would prefer to hear it in my own language and like he said watch the characters.
I remember talking to my friend about how awesome Vic was (this was before she was really into anime) and she was kind of agreeing with me but then she said "Yeah, but it's to back he's homophobic.."
I just turned to her "So?"
After awhile that didn't bother her anymore and now she is happily obsessed with J.Michael Tatum,Vic Mignogna, and Todd Haberkorn....
