The first lawn tractors we sold were Murray built under the TTI brand. Back in 1983 , here in eastern Canada, a 11HP 38" cut, gear drive had a retail price of $1999.00...... and no sir Taryl, my name isn't Ronnie!
2000.00 for a 11 hp 38 inch cut. thats a lot of money.

When I first bought my lawn tractor, the shop that I bought it from didn’t put in the proper drive belts - they used the belts for the blades, which, of course, wasn’t long enough. So they bypassed two of the drive pulleys, just to get it to run long enough for me to buy it. Nice guys!!!

What a piece of fecal! All that work and time, prabably so many variations because they are fecal. My old 1990 Dynamark (which some people call Murrays or mtds) I beg to differ because the standard Dynamarks had the 3/4 rear axles and those standard Murrays only had 5/8. The drive belt on the Dynamark can be changed without taking any pullies or bolts off and in only about 5 min, and also only 1 belt to break, not 2 to mess with.

I can't believe it has been been 35 years since Stephen King's Christine was on the big screen.
The '58 Fury (itself became a "classic" at 25 yrs old after the film was released) was instantly seen at every Saturday car show after that, especially, if they were white.
Most of us never corrected what many were looking at were actually other "wing" or "fin" '50's cars like the Belair, Imperial, Cadillacs, New Yorkers....
I still remember a friend's Mom freaking out when a buddy of ours actually found junked white 1959 Fury and brought it home, right next door to her place. It sat there for something like 5 years when finally the nextdoor Mom had enough and didn't tell anyone and simply had it towed away.
Our buddy had just started college and found out what towing company hauled it away and had it towed back. Then he put an woodsman axe through the hood and left it in!
Believe it or not, that car sat in the exact same spot for another 3 years...

Where does the pulse line connect on this Tecumseh engine? Been looking on the interscreen for that with no luck.

Beretta96Dan Might be a good idea for a video! Installing tubes don't really have an easy process without requiring a tire machine. Sometimes they leak around the bead and you can use bead sealer to fix it. Otherwise fill it up and soap and water the tire to see where it's leaking. Might possibly be able to be plugged with a tire plug. And There's Yur Dinner!!

Admiring that old orange bobcat push mower. I have two of them one self propelled and on isn't. Both of mine are later models when it was Bobcat Ransomes (green and red). One of them has a 2 cycle briggs and Stratton(my favorite mower), the self propel one has a side shaft PTO from block.

OK, well I sure love your idea about turning the damn thing on its side! Will have to have another go at my friend's machine...Have replaced these belts once before, but wasn't able to do it this time....I'm confused about which way that pulley spacer goes, seems like I have it the other way....I saw a video about the other style with all the idler pulleys, the one I'm working on is like the one you have shown...Thankyou, wish me luck

Hey man Ive got a troy mower with the same setup, no idler pulley. The valuable speed pulley had seized up but spayed wd40 and tapped it with a hammer and it freed up. Was able to drive the mower with all the speeds for 10min. Then it only went slow and i have a lot of movement from the belt and the vsp shakes a lot. Dont see any spings missing and the belt and pulley get real hot. Belt is 3 months old does have some wear. Wonder if it stretched when the vsp seized.

i have a white riding mower with 4 wheel steering,is there anyway to do away with vari drive system? im not using deck at all,it is off the mower.
i have problems with my MTD RS115/96B its very slow moving and don't cut until the depth lever is on low and then it hardly turns the blades
Does it run ok if it runs fine than your pulley could be bad or your belt probably your belt if it dosent have enough runner on it to grip it than that could be a cause
Tarly you can also use a pulley puller. The one with L shaped arms.

Looks like the second Christine is missing the battery, perhaps that was it's issue.
Looks like Junior has a bad taste in mowers. A 1970 Allis Chalmers would be a better choice

Sounds crazy, I'm rebuilding a 1988 John Deere STX38, I know the part numbers but is there a brand of belt you avoid or a brand you recommend, I know in car repairs there are brand of belts I avoid at all cost...I don't mind paying for quality, do it once and do it right.

Looks to me like at some point Christy the Murray had an engine swap that's a 92 IC gold it looks like 12 and a half horse? 28 series? Also it was running very rich not the fake engine sound it was making after it killed Ronnie. Wait, I took another look, it's a regular IC, maybe a 90? Jr said 82 slippers said 92, I think slippers is correct.

i did most of what u show in this video but like u said in the vid my son was in mid cutting and the belt broke my local tsc did not have that belt so i went for a little smaller one and i noticed the speed difference. now i know y

No just take your time and make sure you look at everything or take a picture before you disassemble anything
