      Thank you for your support! Good luck on your rotation! Peds can be challenging at first but they are so much fun to work with.

    love the video, very in depth. how much interaction in general do you have with patients and coworkers, besides the physical portion? would you recommend this career path for an introvert?

      As an introvert myself, absolutely! I work with one other person most nights. Third shift often works alone. There are also out patient facilities where there is only one tech so you’re working alone. Patient interaction time is less than 10 minutes typically and most of that you’re getting history and giving them directions on positioning. Minimal small talk necessary if you don’t feel like interacting very much.

    Hi from Brazil 👋🏻
    Is the KUB done injecting contrast? If not, what is the difference between a KUB and an abdominal radiography?

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      KUB is a plain radiograph of the abdomen (to include the Kidneys, Ureters and Bladder). No contrast is injected for this. We have an exam called and IVP where contrast is injected and a series of X-rays are taken of the abdomen after the contrast administration.

      Oh I’m sorry, If you’re asking the difference between the KUB and 2 view abdomen then a KUB is only a supine view of the abdomen whereas the 2 view abdomen includes and upright view to check air fluid levels then a supine KUB.

    I’m in my first round of clinicals and want to work in a children’s hospital. How do you like it? Is there any pros and cons

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are more pros than cons! I like working with kids because they are typically smaller than me and easy to maneuver, they don’t complain a lot unless they are truly injured and overall the atmosphere is more upbeat than adult facilities. The two major cons are barium enemas that are still done quite frequently on kids and post mortem skeletal surveys that we do every now and then (I’ve done 2 in 5 years). If you’re interested then absolutely try it out and see if you enjoy it!

    Thank you for your channel and this video. I’m in school also studying radiology to be an xray tech. Do you only do x ray or do you do an addt’l modality like CT or MRI?

      Thank you for showing your support! I am a registered CT tech as well but I enjoy x-ray much more. Good luck in your schooling!
