1890 was not the start of the Victorian era. The Victorian era was 1837-1901, so if anything it was the end. edit : I haven't finished and i can tell she isn't educated on this topic. They did in fact have ways of telling if a woman was pregnant, like peeing on hay. Also, painting was admirable in woman during that time. Also, the chances woman would be able to read is low, unless they had an educated husband whom was okay with it.
In 1882 Edison helped form the Edison Electric Illuminating Company of New York, which brought electric light to parts of Manhattan. But progress was slow. Most Americans still lit their homes with gas light and candles for another fifty years. Only in 1925 did half of all homes in the U.S. have electric power.

I have a Decade Challenge going on the sims, I am only on the 1930s and so much had happened. My first sim had six kids, first she had three daughters but I needed a son. Finally the fourth kid was a boy. And was like ok no more kids. THEN she got pregnant the literal day before she became an elder, and her husband (who was already an elder) DIED before she had the kids! And then she dies when the kids are still children. The kids are raised mostly by their older brother who is an adult now and had kids of his own. He had three kids with his beautiful wife (it definitely wasn’t four and one got taken away). Him and his wife had a wonderful marriage, till she had an affair with the nanny. The husband didn’t find out until the baby was born and look nothing like him. But being a selfless man, he raised the other man’s child cause the father died (did I forget to mention the nanny was and elder?) And kicked his wife out and divorced her. The kid that came from the affair was my favorite sim, and he was also my sims’ favorite sim. Like everyone loved him. There is so much more that has happened, like affairs, one night stands leading to triplets, neglectful parents, etc.

I love that you used a Schuyler sisters looking dress
The was some electricity then, the Carrington Event (solar flare) happened in 1859 and caused power outages, but most did have gas instead.
Im loving the decades challenge Women actually did ware makeup during this era makeup has been used since the ancient egyptians and during the 18/1900s was made with lead arsenic and other harmful substances
Girl, you are amazing! 🤩 I was waiting for videos like these!
Starting a new binge series here😊 Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out.
Talking about the toilet:
Yes, I know some of my moms friends and their grandparents (1940s). I have even used one of toilets like that, they smell really bad, cause it’s a hole where you do your stuff.
Ooooo Lordy. Don’t you dare show those ankles while playing tennis. 😂😂😂😂
I saw someone do this on tiktok and I wanted to find a TH-camr doing it! I love this!!!
I'm really excited to watch this!! Looks really fun so far! 🤩
most of those holidays weren’t even made up in victorian times
You'd be surprised how many did exist.
@@Ailumer Yh agreed
i believe they all existed back then. at least, most did
Instant Like upon starting this vid and guessing what you're up against. I love challenges like this. It'll take a few gens before you'll be able to use all the modern items I bet.
This is a fascinating challenge. Although, people had running water in 1890 💀
Me when i do the chalenge and relize i dont HAVE Any custom content bcs im ON xbox1: adios amigos
Also, there was both electricity and plumbing, but alot of people didn't have either until at least the late 1890's, possibly only the very wealthy.
This is the very first video I saw on your channel and I immediately subscribed! My goodness you’re so amazing! 😃💜💕
The historical inaccuracies is troubling.
Also, the chances woman would be able to read is low, unless they had an educated husband whom was okay with it.
hey just a thought you can sell the gnomes from thanksgiving and they are worth a lot of Simoleons
I started this challenge a few days ago, we're in the late 1900s and my sims have 6 boys 🫠 the 1910s are going to be fun 😭
Also, electricity moves into peoples homes in the 1880s.
So Many Scholars In The Comments... I Am Impressed And Also Upset That You Did Not Create Your Own Challenge Instead Of Rudely Commenting Things... Pitty. She Is Living On The Borders Of Each Era So It Is As Close As Possible And Not Totally Inaccurate (I Know When The Transition Of Victoria To Edward Is BTW). Just Enjoy The Effort And Give Good Feedback. ALSO 😌 Feedback And Being Rude Are Not The Same So Instead Of Saying "YOU'RE TOTALLY WRONG WAH WAH WAH" ...."Hey I Noticed That You Took This Route, Historically Such And Such WAH WAH WAH" . Happy To Help, Respectfully ❤
I LOVE THIS!!!! and now i get to binge watch progress through the ages! PSYCHED!
this is the best history lesson ever haha. i just came across your channel and i love it!
There are more accurate resources on TH-cam.
A lot of the history isnt correct
Hate to break it to you, but a lot of these “facts” aren’t true and I would watch what your believe.
I'm about to binge this whole thing... Wish me luck
I like to think those in modern wear are time travelers XD
Oh my gosh this is so adorable! I love this challenge
I found your videos a while ago, just haven't had time to watch, but I finally got the energy to, I looove your videos so far! I am also doing the challenge myself and am in 1947 and have bended the rules a bit, cause there was just too much to keep track of xD but you are doing greeat! And love your voice overs xD I totally feel for Anna for having to wash clothes outside even in the Winter🙈🙈😱 but yeah, your videos are great! I also gave you a follow on Twitch but you are in a different timezone than me so I probably won't be in your chat live too often - but anyway - Love this 😁✌
This'll be better now that the Cottage pack is out.
Cool, I’m excited! This should be fun! I don’t normally watch let’s plays
