  • This is a Waldorf style puppet show. All props have been made by hand or found in nature. The puppets are faceless to inspire the children to use their imaginations to fill in the blanks, allowing them to fantasize their own facial expressions according to what is happening in the story.

    Hello there :-)
I am a mom to a 6 years old, we mostly do Montessori inspired child-led teaching at home, but I have been very inspired by the Waldorf materials lately, specially 'the toys', I found your tutorial on the dolls, we will make some with my daughter to replace the plastic ones she has. Thank you for your tutorials.
Since two days ago, when I found your video, my daughter has watched this story video for over ten times! Last night she performed a story for my husband and I. We have a few hand made fabric stuffed doll with no face a cat, bear that someone eas giving away at our Homeshooling co-op yesterday, so she used a little table, placed a Fall inspired table runner on top, then a little stick house I recycled for her, her characters and a few leaves and covered with a little colorful baby blanket, then she began her story. (this toys help her develop her natural instict and imagination, I love them!), She was so happy!!
Would you be making more videos, stories, tutorials? I hope so!
    Thank you again!!
    God bless you :-)

Thank you for your puppet show! I enjoyed it much! I am in the middle of making dolls for a fairy tale as well.

WONDERFUL JOB!! I love that the dolls (Little People) had seats in the front row. Thank you for sharing this, as well as the props used. Very inspiring. I would like to have a box filled with play props that are used just for this and not playtime. A small bottle of tiny bubbles, a piece of sheet metal to make the sound of thunder, a wooden noise maker to make the sound of a horses hooves, etc. Any suggestions would be great.

Where do you find the stories for your puppets? I am not confident in my storytelling and even less so in my story creating! I hope I get better with practice but in the meantime, do you have any tried and true waldorf story resources?

I would love to know the verse at the very beginning. I am having a hard time catching it.

      Mother of the fairy tales,
      Come and take our hands.
In your boat we shall set sail,
      To the story land.
