I don't like the song but I feel sorry for Ari because he is so great and pure and amaaazing singer. He deserved better song!

I heard Ari singing his heart out at EiC in Amsterdam,and he nails it. He takes the song to a whole other level. I do hope he will qualify, but seeing this score I am not that optimistic for him.
I give this song a ‘3’. I don’t like the song although Ari’s voice is very decent in which he can sing, the song is a total throwback to the 90’s. And Iceland’s performing 2nd in SF1 and there’s no way this song would absolutely qualify, i’m so sorry.

I agree. I personally love it. It's also a great song for figure skating IMO.
Honestly, I feel like I'm one of the few that genuinely loves the song. Probably cause I'm a fan of figure skating and I think it is PERFECT for a short program.

Shocking lyrics and super cheesy. He is a great and very likeable singer but can’t see this in the final. Iceland need to go back to the drawing board as their last few entries have been below par. Yohanna, Eurobond and Hera Bjork seem a distant memory (bangers!!!!)

This is 16th in my top 43 which I think is very respectable. This is a good song. I really enjoy listening to it. Ari is excellent. His voice matches the song very well. I'd love to see this in the final but it's just not going to happen, unfortunately.
There's always a choice we can make... to help and to heal... and to send a better song. The vocal gymnastics and miracles this song will have to go through to qualify are astronomical

Yes, there's always a choice we can make - and singing in English rather than in Icelandic was the wrong one.
so sad. Ari is so lovely and charming, even while singing that song...but it just doesn't cut it...
Well, this is by far the best ballad regarding composition and voice from 1987. Too bad we have 2018. It might very well fit on a karaoke album in Iceland. Apart from that I don't see a way the song will make any impact at all.
If only Iceland could be allowed to make a last-minute switch to Icelandic. Ari deserves better, Ari deserves "Heim".

To clarify: I think that Ari and his composer are lovely people. They are so charming and I really enjoy watching interviews with them so it really pains me to say this: The song is just bad. It's so incredibly dated and cheesy and I strongly dislike it. It's a pity because Ari is such a talent and I really want to like it but I just can't. To quote the fabulous Tatianna: We all make choices...but that was a choice. 2/10.

2003 is generous- Ari is Eurovision 1999! He'll qualify but it's bland as that Grandma's wallpaper! :D
Ari is a lovely guy it's a shame the song isn't good,this will probably finish in the bottom 3 in the Semifinal 1/10 for me
Honestly I don’t hate it that much. It’s just a lyrically bad and instrumentally boring song. Ari himself has a nice voice. My dad said it sounded like an Irish ballad from the 00’s and that’s pretty perfect. This shouldn’t be lower than San Marino. 5/10.

Lithuania got last year the lowest score with 3,31, i think Iceland is the last country this year in the wiwi jury with this score.
His voice is so good but lyrics are mundane. but there are worse lyrics but a modern beat is saving those. I don't want it in the finals cause there are too many underrated ones in the semi😕..so no just for that.
The point I don't agree that he is sweet this that and saying if he had an awesome song he would have not needed those....what are those "he is hot, he is cute" ones then 😒. they are just same shits just more 21st century appeal wrapping trashy songs

Ari definitely deserved a better song. Sadly it's cheesy as hell and also bland. Oh so bland. If it qualifies for the final, I will be shocked. 1/10. As Angus said, I think the song would do better in the competition if it had been in Icelandic.

This somehow manages to sound like a parody of Love Love Peace Peace, which in itself was a parody. It's that corny. Sweet guy though.

Zzzzzz. 5/10 = I don't hate it. It's just easily forgettable. If I hated it I would give it much lower.

Worst song of the year
I was dissapointed when this song won over my personal favourite Battleline. I agree that he's an amazing singer and I'm happy that he is able to reach that high note, but the song is just nothing interesting which is really unfortunate because the Nordics are so strong apart from Iceland this year :(
