@@Meatsceptre $150 for a pair of boots is 100% worth it, as in my experience the academy version and lower takedown models tend to fall apart relatively quickly whereas the more premium pro and elite models last much longer.
The answer here is “it depends” I normally avoid speed boots because of their tighter fit but they have their benefits in terms of their thinner touch on ball. So it’s dependent really on what you prefer and like.
I feel like alotta times when it comes to buyin cleats, its like when we were kids and you really thought that buying some special shoe was gonna make you run faster or run higher. If you think buying a special type of boot is gonna make you play better you're playin yourself
So sick of reading this horrible take. It's not that a top-tier boot will necessarily make you a better footballer, it's that a low-quality boot will limit your performance. Humans are limited by the resources (tools) they have at their disposal. A better tool (better boots) will yield better results. This isn't difficult.
Studs and soles are often more aggressive in speed boots though so it is just not weight. Otherwise Morelia 2 is super light below 200gr, but its studs are full conical and not as bitey unfortunately.
i tried speed boots once, got a bad bruise on the top of my food for getting into a tussle with the ball because i'm supposed to be the ball winner, and nope out of them forever
Same reason why I switched to leather, or at least synthetic leather, a little more direct touch isn't worth it to me when there is no protection from getting stepped on
i mean it depends on your playstyle... if you want better traction you should go for the speed boots no matter what position you play... but they do lack protection
Does anyone else also get heel slippage on the predators? I got heel slippage on the previous model and haven’t gotten the new model cause where the laces end seems to be the same as previous model. I haven’t heard anyone mention it but a couple of my friends and myself don’t get a good heel/ankle lockdown with them
While I mostly wear leather boots or something with a synthetic leather, but do love to sometimes wear a thin lightweight “speed boots” on the odd occasion given they have this barefoot feel. Even though they are not something I would wear regularly given they get completely worn off after a month or two
It's not the boot, it's the player. Yeah there may be science behind the stud patterns and weight of the boot but at the end of the day you're only saving milliseconds to the next player and that's if you can both run the same speed in the same boots. The manufacturers job is to make money, so it's all a marketing ploy to make you buy "the best product on the market".
Marketing works and people are gullible as hell. Players of all levels have been killing it in the past without all this tech; just go for what feels good and what catches your eye.
If you are quick you are quick. Boots aren’t going to make you quicker. I’ve always been quick and I wear some of the heaviest boots ever, the Copa Gloro 20.2 just because I like how they look and how the fit.
Not necessarily, but having different cleats I use for practice, I really feel the difference when I use my Mercurials, it's what works for me being a Striker/Winger, everyone's needs are different
But I need speed just like Sanic Advanced
Yes sanic lmao
i like the barefoot touch of speed boots plus the aggressive stud pattern

Absolutely don't matter. It's about ability not a boot.
Exactly the boot is just for comfort
To a certain extent, if they are falling apart you won’t be playing your best but you don’t need $150 cleats
The both boots are over $300 😂

Fr, I’ve gone through two pairs of them already, thought I’d try something new, so I just ordered the new predators, idk how they’ll feel
Alright, so what i'm hearing is, I'll be faster if I don't work socks?
Correct also get rid of shin guards while you’re at it
In fact, if you get rid of the skin on your feet entirely, you could be even faster. 😁👍🏼
And get rid of your foot too 😊

I don't buy speed boots because of the technology, i buy them because the fit me the best.
Fit first, remember!

I like speed boots because of how thin the material is. I like a sort of barefoot feeling.
Tbh the speed cleats made me actually faster
Maybe throughout a 90 minute game it could matter but doubt it.
i prefer speed boots for the tighter lockdown and more aggressive stud pattern
I thought another reason people bought speed boots were for the barefoot feel, something that a boot like the preds or gx 2 lacks
But u also have to consider foot types some people like me use vapors because the way it feels
Most of the boots have a really thin material these days
Idk but mds vapors are confortable, and compared to my speed portals my vapors feel way lighter on my feet. But ay listen to his advice if u want🤷🏽♂️
