Make it an 8 lane road By pass from Mumbai-Kanyakumari expressway via Konkan-Kannad& Malabar Coast. With underground Tunnels constructed in Hill Station areas of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala all the way to Kanyakumari.
The main problem is requirement of soil many of kk districts soil is in forest department permission and tamilnadu government order required.many years gone tn govt sleeping if it is chennai all works completed in few years. I hear news abou this highway in my 3 rd standard .9 th classes started this works started .now i am in my clg first year final semester 😏
As of now it will remain as a ghost Highway to nowhere. The 27 km long 4 lane stretch of NH66 from Karode (Kerala-TN Border) to Villukuri near Nagercoil is 60% completed and remaining unfinished. NHAI has been forced to foreclose the contract with L&T Ltd due to non-cooperation of the Tamil Nadu Government. Travel between Thiruvananthapuram and Nagercoil will continue to be a nightmare of 3 hours until this stretch is completed.
It is because of non availability of the required quantity of red soil with in Kanyakumari District to do road formation work. Not because of mon cooperation from TN government. Now TN government has given the clearance to take the required soil from the neighboring Tirunelveli District. As the present contract got terminated from L&T side again floating retemder process has begun.

What happened to nh 66 work in the tamilnadu area that is from karoad to kanyakumary. I think that the project work is cancelled by the central govt. because of the non cooperation of the tamilnadu govt. It will take another 10 years to restart the work and finish the nh 66 work in kanyakumary district.Corruption and redtapisam drag the project work.

Very bad road design. No proper approach and exits. Very narrow service roads. No hard crash barriers. Dangerous intersection with underpass. I feel like 🤢🤮who ever designed this unsafe road.

what to do its kerala
Especially divider is not there in some areas which make people or vehicle crossing, Also need to find a solution in Thiruvallom and Enchakkal.
