Dursey Eire 32 renovation project

During the Dursey Festival I went with a Dursey man to the Eire 32 Sign from the second world war. Christian has a plan.

We want to restore a bit of local Irish history and need your help. This coming Sunday (23/06) we will start to bring the Eire sign on Dursey back to its former glory. The forecast is for a day with little wind, which is ideal up there. Have a look at the video to give you an idea what we are talking about. The stones are overgrown by gorse and other vegetation which need to be removed in this first phase, before giving it a fresh lime wash later in the summer. All you need is a pair of gloves and, if you have one, a pick axe or similar tool (we will have a few on site).
Meet at the cable car on the island side at 11:00 if you want a ride to the tower road, or walk over at any time (later pickups can be arranged by contacting Christian in advance on 0831075005). An hour or two of your help will help us achieve this goal, and you’ll have a fun day out on Dursey. Teas and potentially stronger refreshments towards the end will be provided. Let us know if you are game.

Brilliant was looking at Eire 70 in Donegal. Will have to head to Dursey.
