I never watched anything past that so I can't speak for GGO though.

But i think that SAO is really good for (young?) teen because I know that before being bored of that kind of anime there's a period where you just love to watch super hero break everything alone and being really classy and strong with shining stars and swords and so on.

I hate SAO because I want to see people give a little effort when they make anime. I went into it completely neutral and came out of it feeling like the tiny amount of investment they'd instilled in me was squandered and spat upon. Why did the first arc just abruptly get solved in the middle of act 2? Why did they ham-fistedly cram side stories into the start of the season that actually have nothing to do with the core arc? Why did anything after episode 15 need to happen at all? And why, in an anime that's supposed to be about an MMO, is the most interesting part the couple of episodes they spend in a cabin raising a kid and NOT playing the MMO?
I'm like a half fan of the anime. I would give it a 6.5/10 or 7/10 maybe. There were a lot of great and beautiful things but... every rose has its spikes.
Eh honestly it's more of the fact that the SAO anime mainly covered the bad parts of SAO xD The actual SAO arc, the Mother's Rosario arc and the Alicilization arc are the better parts of SAO imo and the majority of the SAO anime was about the ALO arc and the GGO arc which were really quite blegh at best. Well if SAO ever gets a S3 and the Alicilization arc ever gets fully animated, it'll definitely be really good (and I say fully since that arc is like what 5-6 volumes long at the minimum?)
