Another solid video bro, this is rare where we slightly disagree, but I also understand your points. I haven’t liked Kenny’s arc since season 4, I thought having him beat Hawk having so little experience was an overreach, and now this season I think they’re overrcorrecting for the sake of plot. I wanted to see more interaction with him and Anthony in part 1, and maybe we see that in part 2. One thing I do totally agree with you on is they did need to do more with him and Robby when he shows up at Miyagi-Do (how did Kenny know how to get to Miyagi-Do anyway?).
That thing they did with Kenny s*****g was so cringy. It also felt so out of place. And pushing him aside for Devon? Really? In my opinion, this felt forced. Kenny is far more of an interesting character than Devon.
THIS IS WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN : Kenny and Anthony fight. Anthony is hit in the head and falls to the ground lifeless. Fearing he killed Anthony, Kenny runs away. Terry Silver emerges from hiding where he secretly witnessed the fight between them. Terry picks up the unconscious boy, carries him to his sportscar and drives off. Both Silver and Anthony are never heard from again. The End.
I agree what Devon did was wrong but I have this feeling that Miguel could tell her his experience from cheating in the first all valley to win and this could help Devon grow as a character and apologize to Kenny My opinion at least

Here’s my problem with part 1. If you were an All valley champion or at LEAST made it to the semi finals then you should automatically be first priority when it comes to being one of the 6 fighters for the Sekai Takai. It’s just common sense.
I did definitely believe it should have been Kenny and Hawk that should have been the last two. I do like to see robby and Kenny tag team together and in a live stream you think robby should learn the sliver bullet instead of the pressure point but robby could learn both and Kenny teaches robby the technique.
I see people always talk about the Devon sabotage, but never thinking about the consequences of what this means, especially given how Kenny wasn't there for the Captain's matches. Kenny likely told Shawn, LaRusso put Laxatives in his drink so he would lose and not get to go to Spain... this will obviously piss Shawn off, and since Shawn can't confront Robby, he's going to do the next best thing... confront Anthony. I really feel like Shawn's gonna beat Anthony's ass in the ground. Shawn will get Arrested, and somehow it will come out that Anthony didn't do it. But regardless, Devon doesn't know Shawn.. and now, her actions are gonna hurt Anthony, bad!
I don't understand why the writers had to embarrass Kenny like that. It honestly wouldn't be surprising if he ends back up with Cobra Kai because of that stunt, which, if that happens, erases his redemption arc. Also, a huge problem I have is that Robby didn't say a word about Kenny after the laxative thing happened. Nothing. The way the wrote Robby this season as far as his relationships with Kenny and Tory were terrible.
The writers are revealing their contempt for the fan service karate rivalry of Kenny and Anthony by making it FULL OF SHIT. Devon drugs Kenny with laxatives. Anthony got dunked in a toilet bowl. The writers obviously want to stop writing this crappy subplot and focus on more important storylines. It is a total mess.
I agree completely. While I may not be fond of Kenny that much (especially with the stuff he did in season 5, not to mention they turned him into an obnoxious bully who thinks he can beat anyone he cross paths with), but s6 did redeem him somewhat with his arc of joining Miyagi-Do. He was actually pretty decent in this season (he didn't annoy me as much as he did in s5). We can all agree that what they did to Kenny this season wasn't the greatest with the whole laxatives thing. Honestly, while it does serve as a bit of karma for what Kenny did to Anthony back in s5 (giving him a swirlie in a crap filled toilet. Which can be dangerous and kill you by the way. Look it up), but we cal all agree even Kenny didn't deserve that.
HOT TAKE: I think from a writing perspective, it makes more sense for Devon to go to Barcelona and even do so from cheating (not from using laxatives tho). Yes, Kenny is objectively a better fighter, but also remember Kim Da Eun is gonna be at the Sekai Taikai as well and she was much more of a personal relationship with Devon than Kenny. Based on Devon cheating, it’s clear she still has some Cobra Kai in her and Kim might try to exploit that and manipulate Devon to embrace that side of her even more. Devon going to the dark side will also move the story forward by helping Tory snap out of her own darkness when she sees Devon becoming more aggressive. Tory’s arc this season is similar to Robby’s arc in season 4 where they both defecting to cobra Kai not out of loyalty to Kreese, but due to being so angry with the world and wanting to channel that anger against it and just like how Robby ended up seeing the error of his ways from seeing Kenny become more violent, the same might happen with Tory if she sees the same occur with her protégé. I also feel like it makes more sense for Kenny to stay in the Valley rather than go to Barcelona because from the very first episode where Kenny was introduced, they put an emphasis on him having to step up to be the man of the house with his dad deployed and brother in juvie. Season 5 reiterates this with Silver telling Kenny to stop following the lead of others and to make his own decisions. With Silver still in the Valley, it might be up to Kenny to step up and lead the rest of Miyagi-Do against Silver for the Valley. If Kenny comes back to Barcelona, he’ll just be a follower again to Robby as team captain. Shawn told Kenny to be the man his dad would want to see when he comes home, so it would be perfect to end his character arc with his dad returning to valley to see his son become the leader and hero he knew he could be.

Kenny has the potential for greatness, but lacks proper guidance. Demetri, before season 6, lacked confidence. Devon lacks honor. Anthony has lacked proper discipline. Hawk lacks caution. Tory tends to lack self control. Sam lacks purpose. Robby lacks emotional self-support. Miguel lacks humbleness.
