I’d spend it making movies and training others how to escape on rockets and adjust to life on other planets. That way, hopefully, if colonizing another planet truly is possible, then no one would take to Earth the mistakes that were made that resulted in environmental destruction to begin with.
What makes this so unique and comforting is that the show is the exact OPPOSITE of what other popular adult animation shows are. You see Family Guy, American Dad, or other obscure adult shows focusing on their typical stuff but this show has the mundane ordinary that everyone is used in real life. Yet Carol made that comfort into a more lively scenario by learning about the people in the office, bringing personal pieces to make them unique instead of exaggerated concepts, and the joys of enjoying things without going too far or obscure like the Applebees restaurant
It's the simple, bland yet fun experience that she brought on because while she finds comfort in the office place, it felt like these people are doing this negatively. They don't call each other by names, look at anything else, or just have a moment. Like Carol, they all felt like they have responsibilities. But I love the way Carol took a moment to get to know them. She took moments to learn about their life, what they brought and had lost, and gave herself a small step by learning surfing. It almost made me forget that this is an end of the world show whenever Carol appeared on screen
What makes it even better is how the ones in charge of the office refer to it as a distraction, and the office workers themselves see it as such to avoid thinking about the apocalypse. It's only when Carol starts referring to them by their names and forming connections is when you realise that they didn't want distractions, they just wanted meaningful connections
I adore Carol, and I'm so glad you did a video on it! The episode filmed by Carol's sister is my absolute favorite. I nearly gave up on it because of the discomfort that the episode specifically gives you, but was so glad to stick around through the end. Absolutely had me in tears. Thank you for doing this video! Your review was beautiful, Bread
Glad you enjoyed the video and glad you stuck with the show until the end. The episode of Carol and her sister hits especially hard if you've got siblings
In all honesty, I feel that the show deserves a second season because it felt so sudden that the boss turned into an antagonist, but hey, that’s my opinion. Otherwise, I love the show too because it is quiet and thought-provoking like a Japanese slice-of-life indie film. By the way, I do feel sorry for the guy who had a crush on Carol. As someone who has spent time around single parents and the offspring of single parents, I can understand wanting to feel complete according to what America says is the “perfect family,” but at the same time, has to accept the fact that not everyone can achieve the American dream, nor is that dream realistic for everyone living in America.
How would you spend your apocalypse?

Idk, just spending time with my loved ones, that's sounds nice to me
I can accept death easily, just part of the cycle, it's just natural, there's no reason to be afraid of it, imo
Trying to escape it isn't going to do anything in the long run,,,
What matter it's, the time we spent together, the love we shared, that's going to last forever, even when the last light of the universe goes out
I was going to say it was cozy until Carol pulled out that gun and said it's Glock 'oclock 😅
With the most monotone expression. Loved that part

Carol is so adorably designed omggggg
And her VA does such a great job portraying her it's impossible to dislike her
I would be friends with Carol but only after almost dying of anxiety because the world is *literally ending*
