I have been making felt food too. my grandson loves playing chef. so far, I have made bread, lettuce, cheese, tomato, Hot dogs and grilled burgers with buns, next is pizza and toppings. I will also make pies, cakes and cookies. I also need to make bacon and eggs. it is a lot of fun. and I know he enjoys it so much. I guess there is donuts and cookie patterns available too.

You gave me lots of ideas for my granddaughters kitchen! I'm going to crochet a bunch of things. ( that was what I initially intended) but you opened my mind up to the possibilities with felt!! Thank you so very much!!

Happy to help! It was a lot of fun and it’s simple enough that you could even get your granddaughters involved too. My two year old helped me with some of the scissor work.

These turned out beautifully!! We got our son a second hand play kitchen and unfortunately it doesn’t have any of the food with it. We’re on a tight budget, but I am handy with a sewing needle! This idea is perfect for us to stock up his kitchen without spending a ton!

I promise you, you won’t regret it! Our kids play with ours all the time and they’re so durable and washable. I’m planning to make even more down the road.

About "cheating" on the tomato at 07:25 -- ma'am, that is not cheating, that is making a time-saving decision on a matter that your customer (i.e., your son) likely doesn’t care about.
To couch it in terms of contract work: I take great pride in the quality of my work, but time is money and an essential skill of decision-making is knowing when to take the lower-effort route.
This looks like perfectly play-edible tomato when you frame in the way it will be used; as a layer in a sandwich. Time saved here can be spent on other responsibilities, on yourself, or on another labor of love.

P.S. that sandwich looks amazing at 08:53! I'd be tempted to make one for myself to play with, but I draw the line on playing with food at buying dino nuggies so I can hide the evidence in my stomach.

Haha thank you! I haven’t regretted the “cheating” since this point so I’m feeling I made the right choice after all
