yea this song shook me when i first heard it. But it stung at the same time cuz I could totally relate. Ive had my heart burned and soul shredded. I knew the feeling he was expressing. And the stories that unfolded with me in his position in this story, somehow felt...good. To think about. Im sure Im not the only one who's done it
Reminds me of my ex that kidnapped me and laid me down in a ditch but the safety jammed on his gun because he convinced himself I cheated on him-- when the thought never crossed my mind. But I guess when you've been in the position of screaming and pleading for your life when there was no one around for miles, it kind of takes the "beauty" out of the song.
@@jaywilliams6250 In Stan, the verse where Stan is talking to Eminem in the car was meant to be like "'kim" with him screaming and shouting the lyrics and he did that but the audio engineer deleted it or something which pissed Eminem off because he tried to redo that verse a few times but couldn't make it as emotional or angry as the original take. That's why if you listen to Stan now you will hear how relatively calm that verse is compared to how he delivers his lines in Kim.
Crazy thing is this was normal for us Stans. If you’ve done enough Em reactions you understand his interest and intrigue with serial killers - he channels it throughout his music. This is the song Stan references in Stan. Dre has an old interview where he references seeing Em go in the studio to record this song and it’s pretty amazing. Despite how dark it is this is to be one of my favorite songs of his because of the raw unfiltered emotion that sends chills down your spine. I guess at the time when he was working on the song or when it was finished, he got Kim’s permission to release the song. The whole song was his voice. Eminem made the song to showcase domestic violence and domestic homicide and all the crazy feelings some people may go through in an unhealthy relationship. That’s Eminem. The Mastermind storyteller. It just makes you feel like it’s all real. This song is also a Prequel to his song ‘97 Bonnie and Clyde and it’s basically talking how He and his daughter gonna be together forever while his dead wife is in the trunk of the car. Crazy lol

from a creative point of view, this is one of the top 5 songs ever, in any genre, not just rap. this is pure art, simply a masterpiece. i was 12 years old when i heard it first, and i grew up in a disfunctional family with a lot of domestic violence, so hearing this at such a young age traumatized me. but i'm glad it made me feel the way it did, real art is supposed to hit you in any way possible. also, check out the cover for the slim shady lp album which was released before this one. eminem and his daughter are chilling on a pier and there is a car next to them with a female foot sticking out of the trunk. it's basically a picture of this song's ending that was yet to be created. mindblowing
LMAO aye yo that crazy you can see everyone popping to the intro but as soon as that first verse hits you can see everyone’s reaction switch in a dime at 5:04 especially the homie in the black cap😂😂😂
Em is in a different league. I listened to almost everything he ever released. You all should definitely listen to his first albums all the way through. It will only make you think even more. True genius.
käptn peng is even better when it comes to storystelling. nobody can reach his level, he is not the best rapper but the lyrics are from another world. its like u are listen to a rapping nietzsche, kant, schopenhauer etc
Em is the GOAT... Bro this was like a LMN movie no CAP. This is one of the best songs he did back then... The first time I heard I was speechless and left in awe because the imagery was so vivid.
When you sit there and watch this for the first time and read the lyrics it’s much different than in the 90s when you bought the CD you go home you plug it in and you just lay in your bed and listen to it for the first time
Starting off reading the back story about it being a love song made the reactions so much more raw. The facial expressions were priceless. Definitely much darker than y'all were ready for based on the "love song" description.
That's Em playing both characters. That's part of the reason why people told u to react to this. Em went hard on that whole album. U need to react to Amityville or drug ballad. Drug ballad is legendary to all the addicts. Don't know how many times I've heard addicts give em his props for that.
This is actually one of my favorite songs by Eminem because if you listen to it it's almost like you're watching a movie like a thriller/drama /horror 💯 and btw that was Eminem doing Kim's voice.
I agree. Bonnie and Clyde is next if you haven't already. This is first and that comes after. This is the type of song that scares alot of people and he vented heavily. People protested him for this too i think
Eminim - 97 Bonnie and Clyde is the continuace of the somg Kim. in the end of the Kim song u can hear Em dragging a body and tou can hear the same boday being dragged in the beginning of the song 97’ Bonnie and Clyde. YOU GOTTA REACT TO THAT SONG NEXT
Imagine how we felt when this shit came out originally. This was an amazing love letter written by a man who's heart was crushed. He did all the voices, too. This is one of his best tracks.
Im glad u guys enjoyed . Growing up for me rap was about creativity, Individuality taking poet to the next level . Now its just rap like each other besides a select few who stand out on there own
Glad they’re finally getting to the old good stuff. Funny how you guys are reacting to this stuff the exact same way people did when it came out. The fact he can make you FEEL that in a song is what’s great. Hence his success.
It’s funny seeing young dudes react to old Eminem songs. Just the expressions on their faces change. I still remember rocking out to this but always being careful where I’d play it lol.
Fun fact - this song wasn't even on the original version of the album. It was released on a special edition later on, along with an unedited version of the "drugs are bad" track. I had the original Marshall Mathers LP but downloaded this song years later on like WinMX.
I'm glad you guys are innocent to this kind of feeling and situation. I hope no woman ever does any of you boys wrong enough that you start crying at the "i hate you I hate you oh my god I love you" part. Cause it happens to me every time. This is a window into an anguished man's mind and heart. It's not supposed to be sane, cause none of the thoughts or feelings that you have in this situation are remotely sane except for the "But I'm not going to do it...I'm better than that" moment.
The way em can fully immerse the listener into his story and put you exactly in his shoes playing it out like a movie! Absolute genius that we will never see again!🫡❤️🇦🇺
This song is a masterpiece tbh. I know its dark but it captures the impulse of rage while painting a video in your head. Him yelling at traffic and the unwarranted frustration with the little things like the radio while thinking of the good times but simultaneously reverting back to anger it makes you relate even if you never had those extreme feelings. Rage grief pain bi-polarism and the internal struggle of love. Dark yet poetic.
this and the sequel to this “97 bonnie and clyde” are some of the most creative and unique rap songs ever. this one he’s screaming all the way through going back and forth to do a woman’a voice while perfectly getting the feeling from both sides across. and in the other song he’s talking like a baby all the way explaining murder as cute and normal as possible. artistically, its damn near masterful btw i think you guys would like the eminem show best. best song is probably sing for the moment and you might have fun in “my dads gone crazy” or “square dance” or “business”

besides, was bonnie & clyde 99 already taken?
This album is a masterpiece from beginning to end
Y'all need to react to this whole album start to finish. Best album.
For real
This was one of my moms favorite songs. She would play it while picking me up from highschool and all the other kids would be shocked. She passed in sep 21 at the age of 52. RIP mom
This chorus right here is basically the birth of that emo rap sound we have today
That is completely wrong
@@oscarr2480 it wasn't the birth of it but emo rap uses that sound
Boy hell nah
Bro you know ain’t no one gonna give you that one.
He should tell people he did though. That’d be hilarious.
Crazy lol
Right. He's an artist. He made art that hits ya
It's absolutely not that. But that could have been it
Showcase of domestic violence???😂😂😂 bruh he did not make this song to showcase domestically violence. He made it to show his feelings towards Kim at the time when they weren’t doing to well, he has stated this in so many interviews, there’s no deep meaning to this song there’s no message to this. Y’all stand be making it more then it really is. Not to mention he be beating Kim’s ass in real life
@@jwood8769 Foreal 😭
@@jwood8769 Thank you! Most real Em fans know this but theres some weird section of the Stans that thank he can do no wrong lol I bet he regrets making this song just like he does Cleaning Out My Closet
Yooooo Eminem does all kinds of people's voice in his albums!!! That's what makes him fucking CRAZY AS AN ARTIST! DUDE WAS INSANE BACK THEN. ERRRYBODY was playing the Marshall Mathers cd back then gangstas blacks whites... shit was wild!!!! Eminem is one of the best artist ever yo fo real fo reallll....
It was definitely Em with both voices.
And your reaction is beautiful. Thank you.
Def one of the most original songs in hip hop. Though not my cup of tea, this song once heard will never be forgotten.
Man , everytime i hear this Track i feel like iam at the Scene watching from the Window or just be in the Backseat with'em ...
Em just Levels above all the other Levels .
“Kim…KIM! Why don’t you like me? You think I’m ugly don’t you?” Still gets me laughing after 24 years! 😛
It's a really easy song to understand and relate to if you've ever been cheated on in that situation. Who wouldn't feel homicidal.
Truth
True story 🥂
Tru
I didn't. I just felt really fucking sad and stayed that way for months.
Which is funny, because at the time I definitely used anger a lot to drown and mask other emotions. But when I got cheated on I just.. became a robot for half a year.
One of my favorite tracks in this album. He really knows how to push the envelope.
I remember getting this CD when it came out, we was like "w t f" ..... I love it ! Play it again!
Now please do Eminem - 97 Bonnie & Clyde... it's the continuation of this song, but he released it before this song on The Slim Shady LP. Lol. It's one of my favorite Eminem songs. 🔥🔥
kim's voice is Em's doing it this man is a genius
I'm glad guys like yall do reaction videos cause with all honesty, I don't think I would have ever been able to listen to this all the way through alone.
from a creative point of view, this is one of the top 5 songs ever, in any genre, not just rap. this is pure art, simply a masterpiece. i was 12 years old when i heard it first, and i grew up in a disfunctional family with a lot of domestic violence, so hearing this at such a young age traumatized me. but i'm glad it made me feel the way it did, real art is supposed to hit you in any way possible. also, check out the cover for the slim shady lp album which was released before this one. eminem and his daughter are chilling on a pier and there is a car next to them with a female foot sticking out of the trunk. it's basically a picture of this song's ending that was yet to be created. mindblowing
It’s crap tbh. And wouldn’t have got eminem cancelled these days
Em can tell a story that has you watchin it as a movie in your head thats where the genius is in this song
I love their yapping 😊
I agree. Bonnie and Clyde is next if you haven't already. This is first and that comes after. This is the type of song that scares alot of people and he vented heavily. People protested him for this too i think
97 Bonnie and Clyde
Video starts at 4:44
Eminim - 97 Bonnie and Clyde is the continuace of the somg Kim. in the end of the Kim song u can hear Em dragging a body and tou can hear the same boday being dragged in the beginning of the song 97’ Bonnie and Clyde. YOU GOTTA REACT TO THAT SONG NEXT
Imagine how we felt when this shit came out originally. This was an amazing love letter written by a man who's heart was crushed. He did all the voices, too. This is one of his best tracks.
Imma definitely enjoying ur reactions to Eminem 🔥✨❤️ keep going
glad i grew up in a time that an artist could go that far
even though it was graphic ,it was genius how he painted a picture like it was a horror movie through rap...dope
Im glad u guys enjoyed . Growing up for me rap was about creativity, Individuality taking poet to the next level . Now its just rap like each other besides a select few who stand out on there own
We all have insane thought and emotions,
For him to pen this is why it's one of his greatest songs.
Glad they’re finally getting to the old good stuff. Funny how you guys are reacting to this stuff the exact same way people did when it came out. The fact he can make you FEEL that in a song is what’s great. Hence his success.
One of my favorite Eminem songs
now you guys have to do bonnie and clyde, it connects to this track
It’s funny seeing young dudes react to old Eminem songs. Just the expressions on their faces change. I still remember rocking out to this but always being careful where I’d play it lol.
Can't lie. I love this song. So cinematic.
Eminem directed a movie with this song. You can feel the pain and invision the agony in each, verse, scene.
This was a prequel track to the "Bonnie & Clyde" track if you haven't done that it leads into it
Fun fact - this song wasn't even on the original version of the album. It was released on a special edition later on, along with an unedited version of the "drugs are bad" track. I had the original Marshall Mathers LP but downloaded this song years later on like WinMX.
I havent heard this 1 for years his emotions are crazy makes it like a lyrical horror movie ya dnt need any visuals cos ya can feel what hes sayin
If you listen to ‘97 Bonnie and Clyde it’s Part 2 to this song there’s a total of 3 songs in this trilogy
What’s the third

Part 2 was on the album before? 🙈
thats the ep version, 97' Bonnie and Clyde for the LP version
I'm glad you guys are innocent to this kind of feeling and situation. I hope no woman ever does any of you boys wrong enough that you start crying at the "i hate you I hate you oh my god I love you" part. Cause it happens to me every time.
This is a window into an anguished man's mind and heart. It's not supposed to be sane, cause none of the thoughts or feelings that you have in this situation are remotely sane except for the "But I'm not going to do it...I'm better than that" moment.
brandons green hat with an orange bill is making me wanna request "role model"
this song is therapy
97 Bonnie and Clyde, the after story of ditching the body
I used play this song so damn loud when it came out. Watching yalls reactions r hilarious! This came out during my teens and early 20's.
5:50 why is bro jamming it so hard
This was Ems therapy believe me he was at his limit and needed to get this out
Definitely do 97 Bonnie and Clyde next .. it's basically part 2 of this song

You guys need to listen to " Eminem - Bad guy " , the last verse on that song is arguably one of the best verses in hip-hop history.
Wow haven't heard "Kim " in such a long time. Still shocked to my core , Eminem is such a talented rapper. 👏
You heard the pain in he's voice.. 🤘🏻
The way em can fully immerse the listener into his story and put you exactly in his shoes playing it out like a movie! Absolute genius that we will never see again!🫡❤️🇦🇺
He has publicly stated that. Yes, he did. In fact, write this because he thought it. I'm contemplated what The song was stating
I have been Patiently waiting for this one
this and the sequel to this “97 bonnie and clyde” are some of the most creative and unique rap songs ever. this one he’s screaming all the way through going back and forth to do a woman’a voice while perfectly getting the feeling from both sides across. and in the other song he’s talking like a baby all the way explaining murder as cute and normal as possible. artistically, its damn near masterful
btw i think you guys would like the eminem show best. best song is probably sing for the moment and you might have fun in “my dads gone crazy” or “square dance” or “business”
Kim literally slit her wrist after hearing this song
please check out "Phenomenal/Guts Over Fear / Kings Never Die"
The way bro stopped bobbing his head when Eminem started rapping 😭🤣
Y’all should do 97 Bonnie and Clyde off the slim shady LP
I've been waiting for this my whole life ngl
Gotta listen to 97’ Bonnie and Clyde. It’s a part 2 to this!!!!
I just wanted to look up reactions to Kim, and 2 minutes into your video I subscribed to ya, you and your friends seam wholesome and give off great vibes.🎉
