    It's looking fantastic Gav! Here is what I can tell you about the chipping/worn effects stuff. It will work out ok if you have lacquer underneath it and then acrylic over top but it will not work if you put lacquer over top of it as the lacquer will not be effected by the water that's used to initiate the chipping. As for the last question....I'm learning that myself. My initial go is to put the stowage on last after painting it but I see Night Shift and Panzermeister both do it before.

      Thanks for the in depth reply Joe its appreciated marra i am painting around all that stowage now ! Regards Gav.

    nice work Gav, looking good. I prefer to paint extras/stowage separately and glue on after the vehicle is detailed painted but before weathering. I am not 100% consistent with that approach but when i do deviate i always end up cursing myself for not doing them separately 😜😜😜

    • @gavinbooth
      @gavinbooth  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Glen i am starting to lean towards painting them separately i can see these cables causing nothing but trouble on the tiger . Regards Gav.

    Fantastic progress marra 👍🏻👍🏻 looking great with that tone of pink 😊 you should be able to chip acrylic lacquer paint but it is more resiliant than the Tamiya paint. I use hairspray which works find and is much cheaper than the model brand name stuff. For stowage - well, i am split and it depends on the mood i think ... in the lrdg i am obviously painting it separate but i dont think there is a right or wrong way. Whatever Works for you /Regards Fredrik

    She is looking awesome. I don't believe you can use the crackle with lacquer paint. I might suggest you test it on something and see if it will work. You could always use hairspray and then paint over that as well.

    Everything is coming along nicely, Gav. Not sure about adding rust for a vehicle that was operating in the desert. More likely to have most of the paint sanded off, literally, by sand, down to bare metal. I doubt there would be enough moisture to rust the steel. That, and I can see them being turned into impromptu tables or benches when you are patrolling in the middle of the dunes.

    • @gavinbooth
      @gavinbooth  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would still put some marks on the sand ladders the body of the landrover is aluminium so doesn't rust but i might put some on the chassis i will do more research on desert vehicles . Thanks for the feed back marra . Regards Gav.

    'paint-chipping' will look fine. Try painting a sprue, and doing everything you want to do on the LR, with the sprue...if it works? You're fine.
