I have never in all my years of fishing lost a fish to a snap or had to replace one from wear. The bigger question should be, how to OPEN your damn snaps.
Glad you have not ever experienced any trouble. This is a preventative measure to insure you do not have a failure. Most pros and people who spend alot of time on the water will tell you that they can wear over time. Common sense will tell you if you keep bending metal enough, it will eventually give out over time. @@stealth-tackle Well I am indeed not a Pro and certainly common sense I have, so sure they do indeed wear over time and give out. I just never experienced an issue with them. Maybe because I usually will add knew leaders every few years or just lucky. TY for sending the link on opening.
