Ah yes, the main villain of Umineko. Erika's Ex.
That's a misconception of this scene. It seems that Erika was quoting her former boyfriend. Hence her usage of "Ore" in this scene.

Uh, basically after Erika rekts Battler, he then starts crying about how Ange should live, which causes Erika to blow up at him, saying that he should have been there for her in the first place.
The way she angrily reacts to it really comes of as projecting.
Dlanor is such a cutie
This is one of my favorite moments. It's just so much fun watching these two.

It doesn't but it really humanizes her and makes her an actual character. On EP 5 she's just Bern's OC and you can't really take her seriously, but in this episode it's revealed that she used to be a person from the real world before becoming Bern's piece, even more when you execute her in the TIPS, it mentions how she got stranded after falling off her ship, implying that the witch hunters found out about her death in the future and started including her on the forgeries

So Erika's way of obtaining truth is by gathering more circumstantial evidence and overwhelming her opponent, yet not denying the pieces of evidence they've brought to the table? She would have been a great lawyer I guess lol.
However, I can see why she lost the game in Ep.6. To defeat the Witch, every piece of evidence that claims to be magic must be argued against logically. Dlanor was warning Erika about this but she got egotistical thinking Bern had her back. Smh. I guess she truly is a stubborn witch of truth. As long as she has "her truth", no human can oppose her except for another witch (god). She would be annoying as hell to deal with in real life.😂
Moreso “her truth is better than theirs” is what she aims for

Ah, so even Erika Furudo has that most redeaming of features, a Sad Backstory... And one that humanizes her to a large extent. We've all met real-life Erikas, haven't we? And if this scene gets us one step closer to understanding these Erikas and their pain, then it has not been for nothing.

I don't know if Erika is truly a mere creation of Bernkaste, after all. To me it seemed more like she was a real human girl who died and was brought back as Bernkastel's piece and double to work for her. Kind of like what Bernkastel did to Ange in EP4.
if you interpret it more literally, erika might never have even showed up on the island in the first place, she fell off a ship and drowned near the island, only for people to write forgeries about her possibly having survived and washing up on rokkenjima, assuming things about her from her past
@@mattiswan1 yeah, that's exactly the impression I got. Her profile says her family looked for her, but the Rokkenjima massacre overshadowed her disappearance (/death). On the fantasy side we have an explanation for her involvement (since Umineko is what it is), but if you just consider the real world what you wrote is the most likely answer.

I had a stroke during this scene because I thought that Erika was a confirmed gay.
Erika is definitely into girls canonically (just look at her blatant crush on Bernkastel, absolutely NOT platonic lol) but in this scene she was simply talking about her ex-boyfriend.

@@MiiChanx Why should this be absurd? Ok Amakusa wouldn't be a student anymore in 1986 because he fought as an agent in Higurashi. Battler on the other side...Tohya borrowed a character from a "human stranger", turned her into an intellectual rapist and even a murderer on paper. It's elucidated in the side story "Game Master BATTLER". Toyha/Battler must have some strange emotions for someone he hadn't met in life.

I mean assuming Erika was created by Bernkastel to essentially be her representative on the Rokkenjima, and Bernkastel is very clearly a Lesbian or at the very least Bisexual wouldn’t it make sense that Erika would also potentially be a Lesbian? Of course I can’t read Japanese, so I can’t read the original source to confirm or refute the claim.
@@InquisitorThomas Erika is a real Human. She existed outside of the catbox, but since she fell off a boat near Rokkenjima on the same day as the incident, Bern was able to bring her into the game.
Bern is using a Human piece who looks and even acts very similar to her but the piece is ultimately a separate being.

Honestly one of the stupidest and least developed backstories EVER. I'm still sad about it after years because Erika is my favorite character and deserved better than literally just "oh she had a bad breakup one time, now she's Ben Shapiro". Seriously, Ryuukishi is a great writer, he can do MUCH better than this.

Plus, my comment isn't an in-depth analysis of the things I didnt like, it's my disappointment expressed in a silly way. The breakup is just what made her disbelieve in love altogether, but she was always obsessed with finding the "truth."
