Painful And Long Seal Rescue [GRAPHIC]

- Will he survive? We do not know. We do not often see severe and painful entanglements like this one. Most animals probably would not have made it for so long. He is strong and the wound was surprisingly clean, but we could smell the infection from deep inside. We hope he will make it, and we know that we tried our hardest to save his life. It is hard to watch the whole rescue, it was very hard to do the rescue in the first place. It is the third video with a 'GRAPHIC' warning within two weeks, they are a constant reminder that our wildlife is under serious threat because of human negligence and failure. 🦭

When I think of the pain that poor bull suffered, it breaks my heart. But you were there, and removing that huge roll of line gives him another chance at life. I hope you see him again after the healing has begun so you can tell us he's OK. Thanks guys, well done!

That poor, poor first seal ... I think that was definitely the worst entanglement I've seen so far. It was bad enough to see all those horrible lines SO incredibly tight around his neck, but when Naude used the hook, it seemed to ALMOST disappear into the horrific wound. Then when they turned him to the other side, the lines just kept coming. I'm SO glad you caught him when you did -- it was obvious from the depth of the wound, and the amount of blood on all the lines and all over your tools, that he wouldn't have survived much longer. He has a CHANCE now, thanks to the amazing OCN team. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Little did they know when they started these rescues that they would become seal ER med techs. This one left me speechless. Not only did that first seal go through agonizing stress and pain, so did these heroic men, as they tenderly and carefully saved yet another one. Love and gratitude from the States.❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸

Naude apologizing to the bull for the additional pain he is causing😥...but after a few minutes in the saltwater, the pain will start to lessen and the big guy will become stronger. Thanks for cutting the line so carefully.🦭🙏

Man, the removal of that snook line on the bull seal was mentally painful just to watch. I can hardly imagine how painful it must have been, both the physical pain for the seal and the mental strain for the team to remove the entanglement. Also, it is incredible how much they can survive. Thank you so much for everything you do to save the seals. Best wishes to all of you.

Oh that poor young bull and little girl . Of the 800+ videos from OCN this has to be the most heartbreaking to watch. No cute puppies or humorous banter. This shows the true reason that OCN is out there. Please team if you spot this poor boy in the future mention it in a video. My heart is breaking for these two and that the team has to deal with with such horrible rescues 😢🦭

I just wanted to cry! If that wasn't a big bull it wouldn't have survived! He was almost decapitated it was so deep! The second one was so infected! God made these seals so resilient & tough! I can't imagine the pain they were going through! I pray they both heal up quickly & live healthy lives! Thank you so much OCN team! May you all be blessed for all you do for these furbies!
I'm 69 yr old and seen alot of carnage. Have following you guys a couple of months now but this video today put a tear in my eyes. Thank you for helping these little guys. Wish I could be there to help.
This was a hard watch. Every time he twitched in pain I could imagine how painful. He was a strong animal to have withstood this agony. I hope he made it in the wild and produced happy, healthy pups.

Сколько боли они пережили и могли бы пережить, если это так, а ведь мог бы и быть смертный конец. Даже с первых минут, они почувствуют ,что боль отступает, вода промоет раны, они заживут. Огромнейшее спасибо, ребятам, за их благородный труд. А людям, задуматься, прежде чем что то выбросить в океан, а не навредит ли кому то?

I cannot believe how resilient that bull is. With the unbearable pain, bleeding and infection, yet he is still looking reasonably strong. Perhaps it is just the adrenaline making him run like that... but I think he will make it. What a great job!

Perhaps the most severe cuts I ever saw on poor bull's neck! When he was running towards the water afterwards, the deep cuts on the neck can easily be seen. The team is so caring and know their job well. Well done guys! Bless you!!! ♥️🙏🥰
This one was extremely difficult to watch but very necessary to see. This is what we all should be worried about, not plastic straws that really don’t do the damage that these fishing lines, string, ropes and plastic bags can do. I'm really surprised the 5 - 10 feet he was dragging behind him hadn't entangled a few more seals. I hope and pray you all (both seals and all rescuers) make full recoveries from these atrocities. God bless you for the patience in this rescue. Christ you were just digging deeper and deeper into the seal but what can you do with so many lines of entanglement. Sometimes it goes far too long than everyone wants from seal too rescuers.

I have been binge watching your channel since I found you about a week ago! You are so wonderful to do this for these innocent animals. My heart was in my throat the whole time you were digging out all those lines. These animals are subjected to so much pain and suffering because we humans cannot or won't clean up after ourselves. I am not the best at seeing animals in pain and these two had horrific injuries. I cannot imagine the pain they must have been in. You are my heroes, hanging in, never giving up, literally risking life and limb to give those seals another chance. From South Eastern Australia, where a Southern Right whale and her almost all white baby are making their way south to the krill fields, amazing to see.
To all those asking about ointments etc, I suggest watching one of the 'Q and A sessions run by OCN where they explain why they do things the way they do. They really know what they are doing, salt water is the best healing agent and we can help by collecting every bit of rubbish and educating as many people, especially children as to how we, the rubbish throwers, can help by being responsible.

Sadly it is their business that matters to them, and not the seals. I honestly think they don't care about the seals- they care about their profit. Less seals=less competition=more profit. Just my opinion, though. Thankfully the OCN is there for the seals!! ❤
