The difference between Morgott and Mohg is staggering. Morgott hates his Affliction and looks more human in the face and uses sacred damage. Then you look at Mohg who embraced his Affliction and has a More Monstrous looking face and specializes in Blood magic. It's Very Reminiscent to characters like Dante and Virgil or Cain and Able. And I love their duality. One was stuck in the glories of the past and the other focused on Ambitions of the future.
It's probably more accurate to say Mohg embraced being seen as a monster by society instead of his "affliction" since he doesn't use the magic of the Crucible. Being an omen isn't actually a bad thing, the Golden Order just villainized it because the Erdtree usurped the Crucible when it took over the Lands Between. Would've been interesting to see a third brother just fully embrace the old magic.
I love the fact that Bloodfire is more visually appealing than the fire used by the fire monks or the fire giant. They use red hot fire. But the best word to describe bloodflame is "Crimson." It gives a more ominous flare to the true Lord of Blood.
As ever, I have to point out where, around 0:26, a distinctive six-note scale kicks in that's more than a little bit familiar -- it's a leitmotif straight from Bloodborne, from the theme of the Cleric Beast and Vicar Amelia, and is present in Lawrence's theme as well. The Old Blood yet lingers. Stay the course, whether you call yourself Hunter or Tarnished, in spite of the fear.
Unlike most Elden Ring, and for that matter, Soulsborne OST's, Mohg's theme doesn't sound crazed, monstrous, or desperate. It sounds ominous, calculated, not insane evil. He's truly evil, but his mind remains in tact, and he has a plan in place. Not only is it that you're fighting the devil itself, it sounds like it too.
This doesn't sound like a fight against 'aggressive evil' but more like a dance with a maniacal, sadistic evil being, who is enjoying every second of this dance.
For sure, I could get to work on the Ancestral Spirit soon, and any other bosses you want. Do you want the first phase or second phase of the ancestral spirit?
@@TOMITOExtensions the first phase is more of an ambient music (imo) and the secon is more of a combat music, if you could do both it would be very nice, but i think the first phase is a bit more veratile, so if it's a long process just start with the first phase. Also how do you get a loop so seamless? Do you cut by hand (or ear) and clip back the audio or do you just enter the boss room with just music on and let that record for a bit?
@@ThomasJoysword I'll do both phases. When I loop, I take the mp3 file for the full boss fight and loop the song by ear looking for the most seamless and satisfying transition.
As with a lot of things in Elden Ring, Mogh without a doubt was meant as a perfect first experience. Unlike Margit/Morgott, who is known for being a noob filter and very aggresive, Mogh is way calmer, likely never going go speed up if you don't come to him, going beautifully with the ominous start. As the fight goes on and you hurt him, the choir unleashes along with his unknown enchantment, which you have zero clue on whatever it does. You just know you get closer and closer to it's end. As it is finally done, you're surrounded by a world of blood, yet no more than a bit of flesh for the Formless Mother, in a display of power that you can hardly do anything against when you see it first. I genuinely felt like I was facing the devil himself
I've noticed that yes, the choir always hits when she!t hits the fan. Malenia's entire first phase has no single choral line. The second phase music starts with it 😊

And then he goes all Nihil on your behind in the fight... That's how you make a vampire lord in a video game. Someone here said it was like fighting Satan himself, and I wholeheartedly agree 💯
Finley the Skin Thief (Optional) He was a Gravan (Burdened) in the days of the war. He had a simple wish, “To become human and be rid of his curse,” a wish many had in those days of hardship. There was hope, a ritual that’d do just that, but there was a catch. It required one to tame their soul, as it was the origin of their curse. Patience. Discipline. Things that Finley did not have. He rushed the process, which resulted in a form which was not man nor Gravan. It was far worse, he was Traughen (Depraved).
I have compiled this and many other themes in a playlist for my D&D campaign. For each theme, I'll have a little blurb like the one I posted above. Try and piece together the story if you want!

I clapped Mohg yesterday for the first time. And i must say: This was an awesome Fight and the Music fits so very well. I thought i fight the Devil himself. And when it comes to the second Phase the music got more intense. I just love it. I will definitely do a NG+ and i will fight him again. Oh and i love his NIHIL.
