Sony just launched a brand new lens and I decided to try it out on a commercial shoot. I went with the A7IV because it performs better in the lower ISO Ranges in S-Log3. I also used the 35mm F/1.4 G for more depth of field but the 16-35mm sealed the deal with the epic zooms! Make sure you check out the behind-the-scenes:

Beautiful video! What is the gimbal you are using in the BTS shots at the end? The one you are gripping on both sides of the camera.

Thanks mate! I'd say yes to the A7c, it's got better colors than the a7III/rIII and in 25 FPS 4K you'll get a pretty decent image!
dear Jacques thanks for this great video, i'm wondering if i see a denoise over the images with the look or i'm wrong, can you tell me ? it looks like there is a nice soft and smoothy effect ontop but i do not see mist or similar on camera . thanks
Thanks Andrea! I think it might be the mist filter creating the look you're seeing. I had a 1/8 Pro Mist on for all the shots

Thanks Pascal, I love the A7IV, in terms of usage it's much easier than black magic and honestly the image is on par with most cinema cameras!

Great video... I would be interested in knowing the ISO and the shutter speed used for the various shots. You captured the tension and the efforts really well...
Thank you so much! I shot everything at ISO 800 except for two shots at 3200. Shutter speed was 50 for my 25 FPS shots and 100 for the two slowmotion shots at 50 FPS.

Yeah sure, a 24mm F/1.4 or F/1.8 will do pretty good in a gym setup!

Honestly, very little. Even with the fast movements I did not encounter problems on this shoot but on fast left and right pan's it becomes more apparent.

Jacques in 1080HD 10bit Super 35mm crop mode can the Sony A74 do 120fps. Because I know that in full HD 1080 10 bit in S&Q mode it can do 120fps.
To be honest I haven't tried it yet, I don't have the A7IV with me right now.

@@JeanGerber Cool man you're welcome! Honestly I think in the long run it's cheaper to shoot on SD Cards. For the majority of the work I do I don't need those massive file sizes that come with ProRes on the Ninja and the Hard Drive space will eventually cost you more than SD cards :) If you have a big project the best practice would be to shoot on both and use the ProRes as the main footage and the SD as backup.
