If the fear of low sales are holding up some of these releases, Marvel should possibly consider licensing out some of the more "niche" books from the '60s out to Fantagraphics. They are already doing a wonderful job with the continuation of the Masterworks Atlas line.
I suspect with the Atlas line as well as the Lost Marvels that is happening to some degree, makes sense as well. It is unlikely that Marvel would ever release a millie the model omnibus though I would love to see Fantagraphics bring out a line of 'Niche' Marvel omnibus of that as well as the westerns and also other material. Yes, the Atlas line has been amazing so far, can't wait for the next one (War ? as far as I am aware)
Rampaging Hulk series had a beautiful cover by I think Jim Sterling that should have been an art print to put on the wall. He was being magically restrained and looking angry.
I would love to see that !! I would love to see a Marvel Covers book on all those B&W magazine covers, as we will soon have the Jack Kirby one, I wonder if that will ever happen - tons of great cover art there.
I saw that. I intend to sell my first printing one so I will be having a lower price because of that reason. I have just got the Taschen version so will be selling the omni. The taschen one is amazing, though super heavy
Totally agree with you! It is a head scratcher as to why they haven’t! I own a mixture of Marvel Masterworks and Omnibus’! Prefer the Omnibus format! Waiting for a reprint of Daredevil omnibus 1 and Thor omnibus 2! In Dc omnibus , I have an order for the reprint of the Doom Patrol 1 - 2025! My Dc wish list would be the silver age Hawkman and The Atom plus the Metalmen! Wonder if it will ever happen?
I think a combo of masterworks and omnibuses cover most of the 60s and 70s but I would love to see some of those move to Omnibus (such as Ka-Zar). I was lucky with the Thor 2 as I found it in a local charity shop. Daredevil 1, yes, would love to see that though on Amazon the listings are quite bad for some of those Daredevil books that I have no idea which one I am ordering. I have Doom Patrol, an excellent volume. A Hawkman as well as Atom (Gil Kane) would be superb and also would love to see a Metalmen set as well, always enjoyed those stories. I guess maybe a DC finest for those ?? though
I agree with everything you mentioned, of course! Also, definitely time to reprint Tomb of Dracula Volumes 2 & 3. And Marvel’s Indiana Jones comic from the 80s.
Had another one for Tomb Of Dracula. I still love the old essentials for those but omnibuses would be great. Indiana Jones ... wow, forgotten about those, just got an order out for the bluray collection so will be getting back into that soon enough. Probably Man From Atlantis will be released instead.
The fact that we got Rom and Micronauts in the same year gives me hope for some on your list. I hope you make a list of most wanted DC omnibuses. On that list you may included Sgt Rock, Unknown Soldier and Jonah Hex.
Yes, a DC one would be great as well, and the list of Sgt Rock, Enemy Ace etc would be on there. Jonah Hex already has a volume. Noticed that the Wrath of Spectre is being reprinted soon. Yes, surprise about the ROM and Micronauts etc
I doubt if we will see Conan though I have a lot of the Marvel Conans, they are now with Titan comics. John Carter, yes, that would be wonderful (assume that the license ?? is with Dynamite ??). I have the smaller compendium collection and that was great ... I think they did bring a volume out many years ago in omni format, if that was case, assume now well out of print
I ve been waiting for years for Marvel to reprint Tomb of Dracula Omnibus vol 2, as it never materialised after their second printing of the first volume. Likewise the horror collections from a few years ago which i missed or foolishly passed over, whichever is most applicable. The Rampaging Hulk turned to colour in its later issues so there would be a tremendous contrast in content. I suspect the reason the adaptations of sci fi and other stories from the 70s are held back are licensing complications as New Marvel don t probably see reprinting as profitable.
Yes, licensing issues always get in the way, I guess with those stories there would be additional complications so the original comics will be the only way to finish off the series. Didn't realise that about the Rampaging Hulk as I had them in the essentials for the latter ones, though I should have guessed from the change in the work. Weird bringing out a reprint of the first volume and then not following up with a volume 2, hopefully it does appear at some point. Just reminded me of another set that would be nice to see, the Frankenstein omni - got lots of horror stuff in a vol 1 and 2 of their horrors but they never got around to a volume 3 and finishing it off with Frankenstein and some of their lesser horrors.
A few months ago I started buying the hardback editions of The Tomb Of Dracula Masterworks. Volume 1 was difficult to get hold of, but I found it eventually online at Walt’s Comic Shop in Berlin. Volume 4 comes out next week.
@@AndrewBuckleBookReviews I have the first three Fantastic Four Omnibuses and they’re incredibly heavy. After seeing the Taschen editions, which are even more unwieldy, I wish more publishers would use uncoated matt paper as the colours (when specced for that format) look amazing. The colours in my omnibus editions look quite garish. The colours in the Masterworks editions for my Tomb Of Dracula books aren’t so bad.
The new DC Detective comics facsimile really takes it back, instead of the gaudy look of the omnis (though I find DC better than Marvel there) or recent facsimiles. The Taschens are definitely the way to go but they are too heavy (they would be fine in my gym as weights) and they are on the little pricey side. EC comics are the next for the treatment and the first volume contains 11 comics, on the basis of about 300 or so prime EC comics to be included, that is 30 volumes and at 150 each, nearly £4500 ... also I think my house would collapse. The paper quality of the masterworks (certainly the ones I have) was always very good though, I assume they are much the same now. The omnis are on the thin side, I wonder how heavy the volume would be if it was the same as the masterworks and how expensive they would be.
Great one
thank you

They are doing a new Silver Surfer omnibus. Reprinting the second run.

I'd also Support a Kid Colt Omnibus, or really a reprint in any form.
Would be great to see any of the westerns getting an omnibus, odd they haven't as many of them have appeared in the year omnibus books
For me it's OOP OMNI's
" John Carter - Warlord of Mars"
" Colossal Conan"

Masterworks series are always pretty good as well, only got about 4 volumes now but used to buy quite a few of them

06 2025 Marvel Two-In-One Omnibus Vol. 1 Marvel Feature (1971) #11-12; Marvel Two-In-One (1974) #1-20, 22-36, and Annual (1976) #1; Marvel Team-Up (1972) #47; and the Fantastic Four Annual (1963) #11
Yes, I am looking forward to that one. Bought many of the early issues of that title. Still would love to see a team-up volume though as well
