Like it or not, it is our constitutional right to own and possess firearms. If law enforcement can’t handle that, they need to find a new career.

@@chamesbrown7307 If an officer asks me to step out of the vehicle, I'm going to comply because the side of the road is not the place to get into any type of altercation with the officer. In most cases that is not going to end well for you. If I was asked to remove my weapon, I would remove my entire holster with gun inside because I also carry a Glock and I don't want any accidents with someone else handling my firearm. I use an inside the waistband holster that clips to my belt so the entire assembly is easily removed.

Just like the victim stated in the interview, JSO carries a Glock firearm which is also what the victim had. She should know how that firearm works and should know that the Glocks do not have an external safety and if you put your finger in the trigger guard and a round is in the chamber and you pull the trigger, the gun is going to fire. If she didn't know any of that, then she should be taken off the street and be totally retrained on the firearm that she carries is she doesn't end up losing her job which she probably should.

This over all, “officer safety rule” not law has gotten more and more of an excuse over the years. It is not the law, it’s a rule they made to circumvent our rights.
Under Florida’s constitutional concealed carry law, you are required to tell the officers you have a concealed weapon, but only if NOT licensed to carry concealed. If licensed you do not have to inform them of the weapon. Strange difference in the law between the two. It was some type of concession made when final draft of the law. Should not be this way, the Constitution of the United States has no reference to this in any way. It either IS a right or it isn’t, and it IS our right. There are groups trying to get this changed.
Oh no, do not put it on the seat next to you. This will ramp up their initial response. Follow the law as written, just like he did. They have “chilled” his constitutional rights,
THAT is a crime as well.

  • @madashell2596

The cops screwed this up. They should have asked him if he had a permit to carry. If he did, they should have asked to see it. Once he produced it, there would be no more reason to take the gun off him. The cop should have explained that he needed the driver to keep his hands out of the window while the traffic stop was being conducted. That would have solved the problem.

This happened in Jacksonville Florida. We have constitutional carry. As long as you are not prohibited from possessing a firearm, you may carry a firearm. You do not need a “permit”. They even noted this in the press conference video that you are commenting on.

Another note to this video in response to a question the victim was asked about telling the officer if he has a firearm or not if he was not asked. In some states it's mandatory to declare that you have a firearm with immediate contact with law enforcement even if you are not asked. To not disclose that can get you arrested. Definitely tell an officer if they ask you no matter what state it's in.
