Despite a good start today, the stock market faltered in the afternoon. The market had a good start today. The Sensex opened with a jump of 305 points at 80 thousand 415 in the morning. Nifty opened at 23 thousand 343 with a gain of 121 points. But the market could not maintain this momentum and later the market fell to the red mark. Around 1 pm, the Sensex was down by 250 points and was trading at the level of 79 eighty-nine thousand 840. Nifty was up by 70 points and was trading at the level of 24 thousand 150. Before the market closed, 22 out of 30 Sensex stocks were down and 8 were up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 32 were up and 18 were down. Auto and banking sectors had the biggest decline. Shares of Adani Group companies have also seen a decline today.
