- Minecraft Buzzy Bees is the latest major update the Minecraft has recieved. The update is all about Bees but there is definitely more to it. In this video I go over every feature added or changed in the Minecraft Buzzy Bee Update. This video largely applies for both Java Edition as well as Bedrock Edition.

@@wordwyrd I'd love to have the wandering trader sell honeycombs. Because Bee nests only spawn on world Generation, so i would have to start my 200+hr 1.14 world over in order to get bees .
I do like the bees, but honestly, some of the things that have been waaay annoying, like the disappearing horse & boat and ghost blocks when mining at high speed, I definitely think I'll enjoy more in the long run.

Unfortunately the ghost blocks have always been a problem and typically only appear on servers, and there isn't a lot that can be done about that other than trying to optimize the way blocks break.
@@WaylandFoster Typically, but I've had the unfortunate pleasure of being introduced to them while in single player while modding at fast speeds. There was a mod for 1.12.2 called antighost which helped with ghost blocks. I'm pretty sure ghost blocks can be gotten rid of if a mod can do it.

It still bothers me that hives are called "nests" and apiaries are called "hives." That being said, good video and very informative.
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, they're named correctly. Check for yourself.
Edit: By the way, "apiary" refers to an artificial _collection_ of beehives, not a single beehive. Funnily enough, this information is also on the Minecraft Wiki.

Good idea actually. It'd be sorta like a bee suit. They could've used that as a shark resistant suit in the aquatic update, but instead of sharks we got underwater...zombies.

@@blan_k4691 Sharks would be a great idea if they are neutral just like bees. Perhaps they occasionally chase and attack dolphins and cause schools of fish to scatter when nearby. But it would be a terrible idea making them the main threat in the ocean because firstly like what @Sarcasm said, it would be a pretty lame mob, and secondly I'd send a bad message about sharks.

It may. I've seen references to where it removes poison, and others that say it removes all status effects. I haven't been able to verify which.

In my game, I spawned near two bee nests. I thought breaking the nest would give me honey. It only made the bees angry and they soon died after stinging me. Looks like I need to find another bee nest. Find this pretty useful for giving 6 hunger points

I have found on short trees with bee nest that you have to sink the campfire down 1 block or bees will fly into the fire and die. Btw great videos!

I just found my first bee and they are SO CUTE. Save point during day time is so appreciated... and the boat/horse bug fix. 😁
I needed to fly like 3 or 4k blocks just to find a single bee hive thing. Good lord lol, good thing I just got an elytra a few weeks ago otherwise that would've been PAINFULLY slow
@@HearMeLearn I didn't even find diamonds yet because there were like a million skeletons in every cave I went, and there's no way im going to the end city for Elytra without any diamond armor. So I have to walk 😂

I have actually noticed the game was running faster, which is awesome!
dispensers being able to collect water into bottles is definitely a big one, specifically for Ray's blaze farm

It started just as a joke but then my friends and I invented the bread season in minecraft , on every server we made, anytime the crops were ready to harvest, someone was going to collect all of the wheat to make bread for everyone and take an adventure to deliver the bread to all the players. And now with the bee-powered crops farm, the bread season is gonna be way longer than before.

I've tried both. Don't see what the problem is.
Items ARE entities, and everyone over exaggerates the usefulness of honeyblocks, remember that slimeblocks can do most of what honey blocks can and they can bounce entities while honey can't. Also remember that slime farms are considerably faster than honey farms. Also, since honey can't transmit redstone signals slimeblocks are more useful in flying machines because you often have to move a signal through a block when working with bigger contraptions and very often with more complex contraptions(bigger does not mean more complex, most flying machines shown are simple such as the flying hippie van in hermitcraft or ilmango's giant bee, it's just a large amount of extensions in a small space)

My favorite new feature is Honey Blocks! Redstone has been changed forever (in a good way)!
I had my zombie villagers who were villagers before despawn on me. They were not part (as an adult villager) of a village because they came from a villager farm. Perhaps that is part of the villager identity? I put too much faith in the statement that they wouldn't. I was on 1.15.2 and this happened, and the villagers were not generated in an earlier version of the game or anything. Might it have something to do with the mob cap(s)? I had wandered away from the keeping area to find more zombies to turn the villagers I kept in cells and again to retrieve the items necessary to cure them. Those are the points when they despawned. They were all villagers before and I traded with all of them at least once prior to turning them. Exercise caution, prepare the golden apples and splashing potions beforehand and store them nearby, I would say. They still despawn like other hostile mobs when the player is far from them, at least in my experience in 1.15.2. Giving them items (if they can hold them) and nametagging them still works to keep them from despawning, though.

The little things they do like putting smoke in the nest before collecting to calm them down is why this game is one of a kind

its called the bug update but all they do is add one bug (insect) and some extra textures for the iron golem, what an update
They also fixed a lot of bugs in it too, but you don't see me complaining about it. How about this, why don't you come up with some better ideas and implement them yourself in your own game that I can patiently wait for to come out in late 2021. lol XD I'll be waiting!

Good... I’m not the only one that saw TH-cam’s weird captions
One thing that I prefer for bedrock rather than Java is how easy can be be to join a friend’s world. Not multiplayer servers but just joining a plain old survival of creative world of one of your buds.
I feel like all these java changes are hinting at a bedrock/java crossover

Wattles, you more than any other Minecraft TH-camr, manage to keep me interested in Minecraft after all these years.
Would be so cool if you could climb a honey ceiling, or maybe craft some sort of sticky gloves with slimeballs and honey so you can climb walls and ceilings

I got the Beelocation on my second try with an axe I put Silk Touch on. Found 3, yes THREE, beehives in a flower biome. They were in the same area too.

6:58 honey blocks are a smidge smaller then regular blocks that’s why you can wall ride. Honey blocks don’t actually make you stick onto walls

I've found a cool bug so your bee that stings you survive. A bee that has stung may go into the hive, and when it does, won't die when it exits the hive. A particular one stung me, went into the hive, thus living, stung me again, and came back to the hive. I broke the nest and he stung me, and sadly died.
i think they should make it so that when you drink a honey bottle, it removes/lessens the effect of withering as well? bc in real life, honey is known to have medicinal properties (i think it's pretty cool that is removes poison effects though!). also while i know that the whole reason for adding the bees was to raise awareness around how bees irl are endangered and stuff, they should make it a little more common in the game bc i'm having a LOT of trouble trying to find some. :(

This update broke a lot of my Redstone. Powered pistons no longer power a piston beneath them, observers no longer act as a T-Flip in a box, and the "Redstone torch key" trick no longer works.
Is there an easy way to transport bees over long distances? Don't fancy having to have to do the flower thing following me for thousands of blocks
Just catch a nest with a couple of bees in it and take it back. PS, they don't stack.
Put the bees into a bee hive by breaking the hive, running, and waiting till night, then break the hive and take the block. When you place the block, it'll still have the bees
Wall walking on honey blocks will make an excellent hostile mob defense system.
An ad got mad at me for skipping it every time so it gave me a version of it i couldn't skip.

So campfire smoke is the Minecraft equivalent of the spray used by beekeepers to sedated or calm the bees so the beekeeper can collect the honeycombs.
When farm animals walk on honey block, you can put a block in front of an honey block and the animal won’t climb above the block
This will help with farms, I hate fences

You don't need a campfire to take from the nest! If you just wait and make sure all 3 are out of the nest you can take from it without making them mad! Atleast this worked for me on bedrock. (:
