- First Coach's Corner of the 1993/94 season (October 9, 1993)
This segment features Doug Gilmour's #9 being retired by the Newmarket Royals as well as clips of Cam Neely and Tod Ewing of the Mighty Ducks whom Don used as an example of why the NHL at the time had turned into a "Tinkerbell League".
Still sucks that Cherry got fired from Coach’s Corner nearly three years ago.
awesome find! i love vintage grapes!
Born and raised in Buffalo, although I moved twenty five years ago, and raised on Hockey Night in Canada. I will never forget how Cherry was treated by the company after he made an honest and benign comment but they were, of course, terrified at being considered racist in any way so they canned him like the cowards they are, and how Rob threw him under the bus to save his own ass. Never.
In 93/94 Neely had 50 goals in 45 games!
Kevin Budzinski ... Cam was the bad boy of blackNgold - he was tough as nails Skilled as all git up . It’s a shame that dickless wonder from Pittsburgh was allowed to run around wit his sack tucked back takin runs .
Only Neely and Gretzky have that honor of 50 goals in 50 or less games , #8 was something else 🐻🥅🏒🐻
@@kevinbrown7326 Matthews now too
"....See what you're wearing out, and, as always, it will be your welcome" that's an awesome line by Ron.
Don't mess with sea bass.
I miss Coach's Corner, Ron and Don were the best together! Everything is so different and boring. Cam Neely was one of my favourites and one of the best all around players ever! Mic dropped and stepped on it!
Haha this is great stuff. People forget it was less PC back then
That's because people today are chicken shits
the singing at doug's retirement ceremony was a beautiful thing
i always loved how ron just sat there and made faces at him
"you're nothin, nothin" classic Don lol
Buddy wasn't long doing the turtle when Cam grabbed hold of him!
Would have been nice to hear Dougie stick up for grapes when he got fired. So much for being family. Its disappointing.
Everyone is too afraid to dare stand up to the new political correctness that Canada has been infected with thanks to our American friends.
you don't push cam neely like that
also note John Blue (Star of Rock 'em Sock 'em 6) on the bench at 2:56
Don is the man...and Tinker Bell? No wonder the Ducks were no good for 10 years.
Don the goat
That's happens when Dave Hannan poked the bear and he gets trouble from Cam Neely. Way ta go Cammer.
Don Cherry is hilarious
Lol..this was great!
@p1ippers Cornwall moved to Newmarket in 92' and lasted there for only 2 seasons and then moved to Sarnia becoming the Sting!!
"chicken s---' lol
Yeah, that was great. 👍
They can update the show but they can't update good ole Don Cherry
including the pose itself.
@DhingraAkshay Yeah. It's on TH-cam, titled 1993 - Pepsi - Shaquille O'Neal
that was the most 90s commercial ever
How does Ron do it every single time?
He does it at 0:48 as well.
Grapes...
@gun4hire What the hell has happened to this country? Now people try to get Grapes fired. We've got a bunch of damn fascists in Ottawa that can't tolerate a difference of opinion.
Lmao some people never change.
cherry, cherry, cherry
Cornwall Royals not Newmarket
@kornered8 isnt he beautiful???? davey...davey...davey
i don't remember doug gilmour having all of his teeth
Don Cherry has always been a little crazy. He's just totally bat-shit crazy now.
We Mock what we don't Understand.
