@@michaelmichaelagnew8503 Brakes on light vehicles for public roads are a hydraulic circuit powered by the brake pedal. When you press the brake pedal, that circuit moves the pads against the rotors, causing the car to brake. Most cars have a brake booster powered by engine vaccum or electric motor to increase the effect of pressing the brake to increase the force on the brake pad. This makes it easier to apply the brakes. Even without the brake booster working, the brakes will still stop the car, but the brake pedal can become much harder to push. But they still work. Modern brake systems are highly reliable. The boosters are extremely unlikely to stop working. You think its your foot pressing down on the brake pedal that's creating enough braking force on all 4 corners of a 2,000+ pound vehicle moving at speed that can bring it to a complete stop in seconds? Why do you think that if you're trying to move a car with a manual transmission a couple feet without starting it, even an older car, using the brake pedal to stop the car becomes VERY difficult? Or If you have your foot on the brake, or pump the brake before starting the car, you can feel the pressure on the brake pedal change?
