As much as I like this cover, you'd have to be fucking tone deaf to not realise Sia is one of the greatest singers / songwriters around these days. Just watch any of her live performances, not sure how you can 'absolutely despise' such well-written songs.
I played this song alot when I was pregnant with my daughter and she is 4 months old now. Everytime she starts crying, I'll play this and she'll cut it off so quick. She'll also go to sleep listening to it. Her daddy plays the drums, we're all a musical family so we're starting her young. 😁

Yeah most modern pop music is shit but Sia is one of the few gems in that scene, along with Lorde.
