But you forget to tell, when the setup is asking to select the printer, you have to check the windows update, then you select the HP Laserjet 1000 (MS), and you did it!

Great video. Works well. Don't need VMware if you already have an XP virtual machine installed in Win 7 (via download). Important to note that the HP 1000 link (mentioned @ 2:51) has to be repeated everytime you run the XP virtual machine. Not sure with VMware if this is necessary.

В плеере Виртуальной машине при запуски ХР в нижнем правом углу должна быть икона принтера Laserjet 1000 при приближении курсора там будет написано "Connect (Disconnect from Host)" нажмите для подключения принтера к ХР

Здравствуйте, на win 8.1 никак не удается настроить так, чтобы из-под 8.1 печаталось (по умолчанию в ней нет драйвера 1100ms(может в этом проблема)). С win 7sp1 x64 всё нормально работало. Подскажите, пробовали ли Вы этот способ на win 8.1? Если да, подскажите пожалуйста, что необходимо сделать. Спасибо
Алексей сделал вроде все как было указанно в видео, но все так же не могу печатать из Вин 7. при перезагрузке ХР постоянно слетает дефолт ДОС принтера на 1100МС.
Не подскажете как быть???
П.С.
возможно ли использовать все возможности принтера? я пробовал распечатать 4 страницы на листе, ничего не вышло. В чем может быть проблема??

Also, the Win 64 doesn't see the printer, only VM does. I installed xp on it.
VirtualXP is the name of your virtual XP machine , it could be different in your case therefore it gives you an error..

Go to control panel/System and look up actual machine name..
Followed all your instructions, and printer is comfirmed to work within Virtual XP Mode (can print test page). But, when I "Add Printer" and "Create a new port" using "\\VirtualXP-72657\SharePrinterName", I still get "The Network Path Was Not Found".

Друкування все одно не відбувається з "сімки" - далеко не завжди можна друквати "наскрізно". Можна ще лінукс поставити, там теж є цей драйвер (і в 64-бітній теж) одним словом - це милиця, а не повноцінне рішення, нажаль
Еще раз прочитайте посты и сделайте все по правилам, У меня полностью работает принтер, все печатает.. Возможно у вас неправильно сконфигурирован порт на вин7 в который она должна печатать..

this "how to" setup is also works on Windows 8 x64. Everything fine except by default Win8 x64 doesn't have “Microsoft driver for HP LaserJet 1100 (MS)”. And it’s pretty difficult to find and download it. So I’ve got one and share with you guys.

what network printer you referring to? this one has no network card. this tutorial simulates LJ 1000 connected to a networked xp, except it runs inside your win7 in virtual environment.

This crappy tutorial is incomplete as it does not start from the beginning. Several things are already done and it does not explain how to do it properly. For example, the Win 7 already exists. It should be deleted.
