For those like me wondering what the musical cues specific to each theme and how it related to each gang, I have noticed these: Valentinos - Reggae as part of their latino gang identity. Militech - Constant beeping sound in the background and heavy synthesizer as they are the main drone/robot manufacturer. Maelstrom - Seems pretty generic, likely because they are the main faction in Watson which is the starting area and likely the first combat themes to be produced. There's a short industrial-ish segment as they're the chromed out junkies residing near the industrial area. Animals - Heavily distorted even scratchy bass and also a lot of cymbals and drums, drums are notoriously physical compared to other instruments. Tyger Claws - Chinese/Asian Lute, obvious reasons. Voodoo Boys - Wood Flute or some other wind instrument and hand drums, due to their tribal influence. Wraiths - Nothing particular other than using a lot of snare, would have liked the sound of roaring engines or similar as a nomad gang. Scavengers - Combat theme is pretty generic but the main scav theme "Scavenger Hideout" which has snippets of it included into the alarm theme has a lot of hard bass as they are the main slav gang, combat theme is likely generic because slavs appear early into the game and also showed up at the early demo as part of the first mission "The Rescue" and likely had less time for their combat theme to be produced just like Maelstrom. Arasaka - Notably slower tempo to keep the tension high compared to the rest as they are the "final boss" so to speak. Includes the whirring of mechanics and hydraulics/pneumatics as the main cybernetics manufacturer. 6th Street - Sirens, the gang originally formed as a police/militia group of vets protecting Santo Domingo and the sirens show their status as the "police" in their home district.
As an afterthought I wonder what sound kits were used. All the music in this video sounds like a mix of a modern dark synth kit mixed with a more upbeat 70's/80's Techno/Disco kit. I find my theory to be very prevalent in very fast tracks like the voodoo boys, where imo it sounds lile music from an old vhs workout tape with heavy synth put all over it.
Something I've noticed is that the combat theme for the gangs is frenetic and fast paced. The themes are aggressive and get the blood pumping because they are fighting for their life. Militech and Arasaka? Both are slower, aggressive yes, but much more methodical and calculated. The Corp is NOT at risk, even if you meddle in their affairs. They are accustomed to fighting, it's what they do, so for them this is only a day in the office. TLDR; The fight was the most important thing for the gangs... But for the corps, it was Tuesday.
I'd say Maelstrom is representative of their love for partying and raves (which you'll learn in a questline and if you've played the tabletops). EVery party with them is like a mosh pit.
Valentino’s: They probably make some good food. And say a prayer before blowing your brains out. Millitech: Probably would smack you with a glove. Apologise. Then smack you again. (Also see second to last) Maelstrom: probably would be the most fun to party with, but atleast one death per party. Animals gang: The best spotters in NC. You’ll make some good gains. But if you can’t squeeze the extra rep out. You’re probably dead. Tyger Claws: Free smart weapon implant. Plus cool Japanese screaming. You’d probably get a discount on dolls or joy toys too. And a good katana. Vodoo Boys: Basically keyboard warriors, but if you were born with them. Probably the best family you’ll have. Wraiths: All the weird drop outs but atleast you ain’t lonely. Scavengers: The best parties and drugs but you’d probably wake up on the side of bed with regret and a missing organ. Or never wake up at all Arasaka: The best way to lose yourself slowly, be constantly unhappy, but will never go hungry or face poverty. Rat race! Sixth Street: Alcohol, shooting, cheap motels and drugs. Also they got some cool drip.
@N7AndyAyyy, sup choom. Technically Aldecados are a gang too so probably them, but out of this list either Valentino’s or Animals. Wraiths: These guys are probably among the scruffiest and scariest of them all. They've been away from normal society for so long that extreme acts of cruelty are simply normal to them, so much so that they might as well no longer be human. They want only one thing. Violence. Scavs: These guys have no place in night city, which is exactly why they belong there. What they're doing is so fucked up that even the music refuses to play properly. Arasaka: Towering above all, Arasaka is the only real "God" left in the world. Arasaka is an infinitely tall tower. An endless empire built on centuries of pain and suffering, seeking only more power, more control. If god does exist, they're coming for him next, and they might actually win the fight. What then? Sixth street: America at it's best/worst. If all the gang song was played base on V emotions, maelstrom might be the gang V would pay attention and have to be more careful. Since they're not humen anymore even their place and security are different from any other gang. it can tell from all of this gang ost and some of the some rhythm was like if it was V heartbeat. Imagine just walking in and then BOOM!!! You dead or you just run into a room full of automatic aimbot turrets.
Thanks choom! Most of these mixes are made in Davinci Resolve 17 but some of the earlier videos were done in iMovie. I rarely need to do anything fancy with the audio, it's mostly re-mixing fragmented tracks back together and putting soft transitions between each!
Finally found a OST rip. Can you do one for Phantom Liberty? There's a remixed version of a og 2077 combat song there that SLAPS, but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere. edit: It's not a DLC song. It's the Scavengers combat music, but the faster version which I don't think I ever heard in the base game even though the files exist there.

Millitech, scavs and sixth street ost goes the hardest imo. 1:41:22 goes so hard!
Replace 6th street with animals and your good
I was hoping for a payday/2077 crossover. If they do that, they *have to* port these tracks. I can just imagine playing Payday with the Valentinos/Maelstrom combat tracks… WE NEED IT TO HAPPEN
Congratulations on +10k followers. Well deserved.
Thank you very much!!
05:41 Valentinos.❤🔥
Great vid. Would be even better if you added visual of Gang on video. So we know what music is for what gang instead of cyberpunk logo for full vid
Thanks! I could have done accompanying video for each, true, it would have added something extra to the sound. If you're curious about what music is for each I've made sure each segment is labeled in the chapters.
they are all awesome but the Valentinos theme is just built different :D
i fucking love cyberpunk2077 soundtrack
Maelstorms and Scavengers just feels iconic, i like Animals and Voodoo boys combat better, but they dont feel iconic
Wraiths had segments that also felt unique to their Identity/Culture whatever
@@City-Hunter idk i think the combat goes off beat with the stealth.
Needs to keep the low bass from stealth and not the random pitched noise it does in combat
I feel like Militechs shoulda went similar like NCPD Prowl, loved that creepy noise and echo it has
Makes doing calculus homework feel like cracking into the darknet
25:00 dancing and shooting to this has never been so satisfying 😌
Mmmm, condensed awesome mood goodies all in one place. Into the rotation you go!
Love this channel 👍🏻👍🏻
militech combat sounds like some terrarria mecha boss music
Best Music
1. Stealth - The Valentinos
2. Alerted - Militech
3. Combat - The Animals
Appreciate this mix, G. I listen to it while working out.
sometimes I just stop and listen the music when I sneak inside of tiger claws.
Simply: The greatest video game of all time, ever and ever.
I never want to use stealth with the Maelstrom, just to get that 4/4 beat.
those synths are so disgusting! my oh myy
Playing stealth is nice, but against valentinos...? No way I can hold myself when I know which song will be playing when they see me.
This is great, thank you for putting it together
Militech, Animals, Maelstrom and Valentinos, in that order. The Max Tac theme is missing, I think I would put it as number 1
18:35 that transition is fire
Animals stealth all the way
5:42 SHIT SLAPS HAAARD
1:01:01 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Animals combat theme is the best followed by 6th street and wraiths
sixth street has the best combat music, hands down.
Anyone else thinks the Tyger Claws combat is inspired by Mona Lisa Overdrive v2?
Now this is what I call a job well done, my friend.
Can't hear nothing than this mix
Amazing 10/10 mix, the CP2077 soundtrack is orgasmic with headphones on
Also, what program(s) do you use to mix your tracks, choom? :)
Thanks choom! Most of these mixes are made in Davinci Resolve 17 but some of the earlier videos were done in iMovie. I rarely need to do anything fancy with the audio, it's mostly re-mixing fragmented tracks back together and putting soft transitions between each!
@@SlowWalkthroughs and I love you for that
The composer went for the cyberpunk-techno style for combat tracks, until he played DOOM 2016 and then decided to write the Tyger Claws combat track.
5:41 omg this soundtrack is something
Are you high?
😂@@youngflashy7181
@@RunnerInTheSky6 bruh. Valentinos is known for having the worst combat music in game🤣
@@youngflashy7181 these are the best !!
@@RunnerInTheSky6 *animals, Arasaka, and Militech laughing from behind*
Wraiths ❤
Valentinos and Scavs have the best theme.
Replace Valentinos with animals
Kang Tao is missing
sixth street the best
The animals combat music would fit do well in a baki fight scene
Finally found a OST rip. Can you do one for Phantom Liberty? There's a remixed version of a og 2077 combat song there that SLAPS, but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere.
edit: It's not a DLC song. It's the Scavengers combat music, but the faster version which I don't think I ever heard in the base game even though the files exist there.
Is it the starting mission one?
Охуенный музон, автору спасибо.
Is it just me or does the Tyger Claws theme sound kind of like Cyberninja? I just see some kind of similarity
