That’s in the case where you obsess over doing a certain set of actions over and over, like you have to close the door five times and check if its locked six times and if you dont do that, you freak out. OCD is when you listen to those thoughts over and over, intrusive thoughts is just something most people get

I feel like this describes me fully. My school psychologist also said that I have some symptoms and indications that point to OCD. For me, intrusive thoughts are kinda constant unless I completely occupy my mind with something else (studying, watching movies, going to chat with someone) and even then unless I am fully focused on that action, they can occur again. Like these thoughts kinda make me ruminate, they are thoughts I randomly think off and then obsessively stick them inside my mind. And they genuinely don‘t let me function normally at times and increase my anxiety a lot. I will need to talk about this with my psychotherapist, this was a nudge in that direction. OCD is composed of obsessive thoughts which in case of intrusive thinking can be you constantly thinking that thought which makes you worry more and worsens your anxiety which correlated with OCD since it is one of the anxiety disorders. It is like ruminating you are constantly stuck on this one thought and connect it with other thoughts and there are no ways out so you feel stuck.

Low key, I did get up on the table during lunch on a Tuesday in eighth grade but instead of busting it down I yelled at the top of my damn lungs. The context was that I was forced to a 2 day camp by my parents and during the meal times people would stand up on tables and yell “Hey (person), how’s your attitude!” And the person would yell back “fantastic, terrific, great, all day long hoh!” So i tell my friends about this cause it’s funny as hell and my friend goes “Hey Colin, how’s your attitude?” But at a normal voice level cause he doesn’t wanna get in trouble. And then my dumbass thinks it would be funny, which it was, to get on the table and respond how we did at the camp. My principals were having the hardest time keeping it together and I was laughing my ass off, but also hoping my ass wouldn’t get beaten later by my mom. Luckily it wasn’t, but still, the fear was real.
