Great video! Possibly thinking of purchasing this. What color do you recommend? My room is white with a few black furniture so I was thinking of black because it would match. 😃 👍
Black or white will be good and will match with other furniture, and will be easier to sell in case you need it, in the future, but If I could choose they have really cool mustard yellow and fun colours 😅 I didn’t because my walls are toothpaste green lol 😂 and will to much.... good luck with building 😉 👍🏻

Your unit is not deliverable to my area but I really want the storage that yours provides. Any suggestions or tips are welcomed as I have never bought a Kallax before. Thank you kindly~
That’s Interesting 🤔 🧐 , to be honest I almost never looked at the manual because it was a bit confusing but I remember thinking , if we place the holes looking outside, the little wood dowel pins in 01:24 will not be able to be connected .. I know it is confusing right 😅😑 but that was one of the reasons I made this video.. hopefully it helps you. And everyone else. 😊
I have a quick question, I hope you can respond soon since I'll be getting this soon! My question: Do I have to put in the parts that make the shelf small squares? Or can I keep those out?
Well yes and no 😅 they are only hold by dowels and has small holes 🕳 to place them in place so you can easily let them out but the strength of the middle area of the long shelves will be compromised, so if you are placing something really heavy in this areas there is a chance it might break or get weak … maybe try and see how heavy your items are and check before your reck yourself like the song 😅☺️💜 all the best luck to you ☺️
@Jamila J. I think yea if is not heavy it should be ok , I’ll probably still try to place some in the middle part just so is les bendy ones you place it all together and just keep in mind not to break the dowels since they are really annoying to take out later on if you need to adjust… (if this happens no worries just TH-cam a glue stick trick to take out broken wooden dowels. Lol 😂) and it should be good 😊 good luck 😉
How come parts are fitting so smoothly?! It's not going as painlessly in real life: two panels chipped, holding wooden screws/connectors don't fit ideally. When one panel is being adjusted, another one starts coming off. I wish everything was as in this picture perfect video. It's not! Any tips??
English with Alina hello how are ya. Yes the material is quite delicate unfortunately, I found you have to be really gentle with it. For example use the hammer 🔨 when placing the wooden screws very soft touch and not hammering all the way in is need it. I found using my hands to push them makes them uneven inside and brakes easy. In the video almost looks like I’m really hitting them hard just because is fast motion, and you are right looks like I’m building them with so much ease but that’s the TH-cam tricky editing magic. In real life, you do need a bit of patience and light hand. Good luck 😉 and I hope that help ? 🤞 All the best! Perla 💜😊
Hey 👋 well With the making of the video and everything it was a couple days, to shoot and build but if you do it by yourself I’m calculating about 2.5 hrs maybe.... ones you get the grove is easy. Good luck 😉
Is it stable enough? I mean, I've got almost 3y child and I'm not sure if I wanna drill a hole into the wall with drill machine. So, is it unstable? I'd like to have there couple of books, comicbooks and also some figures.
Hi there , It is pretty stable if your Kallax is the same size as this one and if you fill the bottom cubes with books that are heavy , they will have to push it really hard but if your baby is like me and my sisters when kids that like to climb to the top of things, I will probably still compromise and drill the hole it can be easily covered with DryDex Spackling pink drywall patching is a few dollars at Home Depot 🤪😜 Hopefully this helps 🥰
Thank you for your vid! I’m going to assemble the same kallax soon. Do you think it is possible to not attach one of the separating parts from the top? Because i have a record player and it’s wider than the shelve, so i wanted to discard one part in order to fit it (like merging two shelves together idk how to explain it haha)
Yes I know what you mean exactly .... you mean the ones I’m placing at minute @1:50 yes it is possible just keep in mind the structure and strength of the shelf where you placing the record player will be compromised, if is too heavy it might start sagging in the middle . Because it doesn’t have the wooden pegs (or pins) holding it....if it was me I will probably not place more then record player in the middle shelf ....maybe try assembling that top part first and check .... all the best and good luck 😉 in your project let me know if it worked ? I’m very curious to know!
@@Pdragon633 i meant the squares actually, like you install right before 1:50, not the large piece actually :) (sorry, it was difficult to describe it) i'll let you know if it will be successful! And thank you! :)

Hi EsteeDarla ....sorry 😐 for the late reply. I use DaVinci Resolve, for all my videos so far. Good luck 😉 💜👍🏻 let me know if I can help on anything else 😊
I need help! I put my Kallax 4 x 4 together but the wooden dowels are showing on one side about 1/8'' I have taken the side off and tried to push/hammer the dowels in farther but the problem seems to be with the outside piece. I measured and the hole is deep enough but for some reason the gap isn't closing completely. I think it will be okay but it is frustrating because it doesn't look as nice as I'd like it too. Any suggestions??? I tried calling IKEA this morning and was on hold until I had to leave the house. :(
I’ll try to gently hammer 🔨 from the outside of the side piece, ( MAKE sure to place a rag or towel on top where you are hammering before you do this to prevent scratches or dents on the wood) see if this will make the gap go away, if it doesn’t work for you...Don’t get frustrated it might be factory error from the panel measurements & you might want to bring it back still assembled to IKEA so they can have a look if you can , they do returns easily without to many fuzz
Hi Pearla I would love to know the product number. They have a few models that look exactly alike and I'd love to get this one from the Ikea website not Amazon.

Hi there , It is pretty stable if your Kallax is the same size as this one and if you fill the bottom cubes with books that are heavy , they will have to push it really hard but if your baby is like me and my sisters when kids that like to climb to the top of things, I will probably still compromise and drill the hole it can be easily covered with DryDex Spackling pink drywall patching is a few dollars at Home Depot 🤪😜
Hopefully this helps 🥰
You are awesome!!!! Thank you 😃
Thank you for your vid!
I've put together about 10 KALLUX bookshelves in the recent years, and always have trouble at the end putting in the last screws, the two last pieces don't want to align. maybe this will help me. I have bookshelves #11 and #12 arriving in a few days.
Aleta Thomas hey how did it go ? Did you finish your bookshelf’s ?
Wow thanks for the video it was a lot easier then I thought
hi Evelyn gracias for the comment happy to know that helped someone. thanks again!
Wow great tutorial. Keep up the good work! :D
Is it supposed to be a bit shaky? Coz mine is and idk if I built it wrongly
Thank you very much. You make it look so easy
Thank you 😊 really means a lot for me you taking the time to send a message, I think it was harder to record everything tbh , so Yes yes you can do it !! Lol 😂 all the best 💜👍🏻
Great video. Thanks.
Will this size of Kallax fits in a sedan?
Thanks. Helped me build mine.
Happy it help you that’s the best reward!! ❤️💜
Thank you for this AMAZING tutorial!
Robin S your welcome, happy that Help you! 😊
You are a saint
I just bought the exact same shelf but now there are only 2 pins per each of the 3 long horizontal shelves vs. 4. I hope this doesn't make it less stable
Useful and entertaining video..well done!
Thank you I've been struggling 😂😂
Yourwelcome Sarah , Itha k you for your comment I’m so happy helps because every time I find a tutorial of something I’m struggling with I’m just so thankful for TH-cam university of learning everything 😅🤪
Anyone has the weight informaiton for this unit? Cannot find from Ikea's website.
What is the name of power drill used?
This thing is super wobbly and I used all the hardware. I know it should be anchored to the wall, but I am not sure where to begin my trouble shooting
Thank you, super good video !
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Is that pin are included?
Aditya Pratama hi 👋 , yes they are and if for some reason you manage to lose some , like I did 😅, 😂 they can provide extra ones for you at your IKEA store for free. (Well I’m in Canada and they did it for me) good luck 😉 👍🏻
Thank you so much!

What's the paint color of those walls? I like it!
Kaeside Iwuagwu let me figure it out for you I think I have a paint bucket somewhere... I’ll get back to you ♥️👍🏻
It's a Cloverdale Paint - 718 Cossak. That's what it says on the can. Let me know if I can help further
Thank so much!
The product number for mine is : 203.057.45
It is white/ gloss finish , they have more colours if you need different one ☝🏼
Full name :
