Saw him live years ago. While waiting for the show to start, we see a guy come on stage, checking the equipment. The audience and myself were clueless that it was Buck 65. Only when he started did people realize and crowded the stage. Was the best one man show I ever witnessed.
Soooo jealous been listening to Buck since 2006 when I went to lollapalooza, he wasn't there but I learned of a lot of new bands that year. Man does he resonate all his complex thought provoking lyrics.
It always amazes me that Buck 65 never took off. I can remember the first time I saw this music video, jaw on the floor, as I had witnessed music that actually spoke to me.
13 years ago I had to write a paper on a Canadian Artist, while all my other classmates were choosing more popular artists I chose to write about Buck 65 and played Wicked and Weird for everyone. A few years later Richard Terfry played at a local folk festival and I was so starstruck I couldn't even speak when I asked for his signature. ♥️
When I went to study in Canada two decades ago none of the Canadian students I talked to had heard of him, or cared about hiphop in general (they were all into indie folk music). He seems more "famous" now that he has a radio show.
It is really hard for a Canadian to crack the border . Celine Dione , Justin Beiber , Gord Lightfoot , Ann Murray ,no probs ...April Wine , Sam Roberts , Sloan , New Meanies , The Hip . Marketing is a strategy we can't ALL crack .
WEIRD i had to move to Vancouver from NovaScotia to be introduced to BUCK65...i was literally 20 min drive from his house in mt Uniacke...Novascotia,then i move back east n meet the guy because a couple mutual friends...Wicked n weird..
I accidentally found this song on Limewire back in the day, and at first i thought wtf is this ratfish doing backflips on my mattress about. But it grew on me, hard, and 15 years later i still come back to this. Buck65 is amazing.
I finally understand why my Dad used to play this song, It fits his life so perfectly Him and my mother never really got along very well, But they tried to make it work for along time. Listening too it now, I realize all the times he spent on the road and out of our house It was never because I was a terrible daughter, Just how it had to be for my parents to keep things together and not lose face infront of their kids. Especially one who had alot of demons they needed to fight in order to grow and find out which road they need to take, Scary how much I take after both of them now, Almost makes me smile -H
I first heard this song when he sang it live on the Mike Bullard show and was lucky enough to find a recording of it. Still my favourite version, and it made it on most of my mixtapes from back then. Its amazing how it was years until I saw the video, but its so descriptive I never needed to.
I didn't record it myself (found on Napster or Morpheus or something), and even if I did manage to record the live show, all of my vhs tapes got ruined in a flood years ago. It's just crazy how discriptive and flowing this song is. Really wish I could find where I saved that audio file.
Buck 65 You're truly Inspiring, you among some other greats shaped my mold in so many ways. Changed the way I look at things and not to mention your sick beautiful beats that to this day I can't get out of my head. I'm stunned there's not more likes on here but keep you underground like it was in the old days, though I feel the whole world should know you! Peace
I was thinking of this song today...thought I would spread the luv through the discords:) I hope you're still making music man, and your Cribs episode still makes me chuckle.
Wow it's 2021 and this is the first time I've seen this video, nor even heard of this musical edit. Back in the days of MySpace, Buck65 was on my friends list, and I had this song playing as my page theme. Chatted on the forums with him a few times, cool guy. I came here looking to listen to his original (pre-video) recording. This is a little smoother, but I have to say his gravelly vocal style went better with the original arrangement. I'm gonna keep looking for the original, but I enjoyed this! Thanks for posting!
My son just said I eat from a paper bag and sleep in a movie theatre. I asked where he got that line and he sent this link. Yes, life has gotten wicked and weird. I am 65 and still stuck in the 70's. Cool video, nice rap. He likes Johnny so he can't be all bad. This guy looks like a friend my son had in his youth and he was also a Canadian.👍
Maritime boy keepin it fackin real!!!!!! u were amaze with Arrested Development on the wee stage at Calgary Folk Fest ages and ages ago, but u bloody blew my mind on rap and scratching!!
Well there's still some love (albeit slow burning) left for this awesomesomesome song, ten years past the due date... Rich, any plans on heading back to the Netherlands anytime soon?
in like.. grade 7 or something, a friend got the juno cd that this is on for his birthday. we def recited this to eachother but the artist never took off.
first the horrible quality had me side-eyeing, but when they censored the word "piss" i just had to stop. i love this song. this video is a disservice to Buck's talent
Hello mr.65. My name is Timothy Bode and I represent iron clad media. We are reaching out to you because I believe that you would be one of the emergenging artists that would best fill a spot in one of the versus for his upcoming song, "Frank Sinatra" if we are able to offer you in something please return. Best wishes, Iron Clad Media
I just read a review for Bike For Three! A duo that consists of Buck 65 and some chick. They praised the hell out of Buck 65 in the review and now that I hear him, I have no clue as to why. This dude is horrible, complete shit.
Saw him live years ago. While waiting for the show to start, we see a guy come on stage, checking the equipment. The audience and myself were clueless that it was Buck 65. Only when he started did people realize and crowded the stage. Was the best one man show I ever witnessed.

It always amazes me that Buck 65 never took off. I can remember the first time I saw this music video, jaw on the floor, as I had witnessed music that actually spoke to me.
2drx4 12 years later and still jamming hard to this
Still good. Quality goods.
speaks to truckdrivers and ridesharedrivers on a deep level
You need to read his book. I just finished it, it's amazing.
So the Jiggle Jiggle song of Louis Theroux is viral now, and it reminds me so much of this.

That's seriously awesome. I wish I was cool enough to write about Buck 65.

He is a legend
He played at a danceathon held at my junior high long ago \\\
Why isn't Buck 65 more popular?! His music is soooo dope.
It is really hard for a Canadian to crack the border . Celine Dione , Justin Beiber , Gord Lightfoot , Ann Murray ,no probs ...April Wine , Sam Roberts , Sloan , New Meanies , The Hip . Marketing is a strategy we can't ALL crack .
yeah I know. especially this record.
I still be jammin
IETCHX69 what you said.. Amazing Canadian acts sometimes just don’t get their proper due. Sloan included. But they make legendary music!
Because Kevin Durant ruined Jaws of Life for erry body. 😂
This is the song that started it all for me.
MTV days ;)
NOVA SCOTIAN!
WEIRD i had to move to Vancouver from NovaScotia to be introduced to BUCK65...i was literally 20 min drive from his house in mt Uniacke...Novascotia,then i move back east n meet the guy because a couple mutual friends...Wicked n weird..
this song has pulled me through so many wicked detachment struggles. Thank you Buck 65
Man, I could listen to Buck 65 all day. (What am I saying?? That's what I'm already doing....) Extremely intersting music, an unbelievable talent.
Coming from East Coast Canada! Word to Buck 65! Classic. 👊
I remember listening to this song 11 years ago and I was blown away! Such a great tune!
the nostalgia of listening to this in the car as a child
I accidentally found this song on Limewire back in the day, and at first i thought wtf is this ratfish doing backflips on my mattress about. But it grew on me, hard, and 15 years later i still come back to this. Buck65 is amazing.
He sure as hell didn’t get the popularity he so truly deserved.. just be glad you found him!
I finally understand why my Dad used to play this song, It fits his life so perfectly

I still have that performance on mp3, dying to see the video though

and wierd.
I heard this almost 2 decades ago on one of my friend's mixes, never caught the artist or title and JUST NOW found it! Gonna sleep good tonight now.
Buck65 forever legendary

I remember this on Much Music when it was new. Oh the memories
Ya old fart
I have no plans an nothin to prove either. Such smoothness. Always a go to.
This so brings me back to my 4k mile road trip.
I even had a "rattle in my wheel-well" (broken strut) =)
I've owned my car 2 years and haven't it 4k miles in it
Wow it's 2021 and this is the first time I've seen this video, nor even heard of this musical edit.

There were a couple of massive torrents on the pirate bay years ago that had it. Might still be active.
My son just said I eat from a paper bag and sleep in a movie theatre. I asked where he got that line and he sent this link. Yes, life has gotten wicked and weird. I am 65 and still stuck in the 70's. Umm . . . this is TH-cam.

Best song to drive across Canada with, take it from me

"Fill er up with regular I need to take a (SCRATCH)" Funniest unnecessary censorship I've ever heard
"I eat out of a bag & sleep in a movie theatre", sounds like Seann William Scott in the movie Bulletproof Monk-This song is Gold
I remember that movie. Good stuff for sure.
My 2 y/o listens to this and falls asleep. I used to sing it to him when he was a newborn.
Ay! That's awesome! Introducing The new generation to this wonderful music
here's to another 20 odd years at least! I'm going to make every effort I can to see you next time you're in NB.
How the mother buck does this only have 143k views in 14 years?
Because I've only listened to it 142k times.
Still amazing.

More like 'black hat redneck' if you ask me.
Pure style son

Well there's still some love (albeit slow burning) left for this awesomesomesome song, ten years past the due date... Rich, any plans on heading back to the Netherlands anytime soon?
Saw buck 65 on the toronto island??? I think. 90s?
So lame how the unofficial link for this song has more views than the official. Love your music man.
The unofficial vid isn't censored.

oh boy i voted into much on demand via text for this song.
im sure im at least 300 of these views
why the fuck is "piss" censored... [Flips Table]
Why the hell is this showing up in my suggested songs...?
Because you somehow tricked the algorithm into thinking you might be cool?
@@vorshack8968 So in other words, as a representative of this song and genre, you're saying this kind of music cultivates douchey people.
Understood.
@@The_Pariah I was being tounge in cheek, but okay.
Never heard of this guy until today and I’m Canadian . He sucks tho lol

Don’t do anything wicked & weird to that old dog
Censored the word "piss"... ridiculous.
what the fuck its cencored
Sadly, this great song has recently been censored. Can't have people hearing words like 'Piss'. Might make them go off the deep end.
I just read a review for Bike For Three! A duo that consists of Buck 65 and some chick. They praised the hell out of Buck 65 in the review and now that I hear him, I have no clue as to why. This dude is horrible, complete shit.
and your career took off did it? At least we've heard of Buck.
