Some just get immense popularity with a snap lol just because they have a pretty face or because they ventured into the western market faster than others. Chungha is not just an idol or a performer but an artist a very rare on top of that in the kpop industry. She is way more talented than some but always gets overshadowed just because others are popular. Also when it comes to female soloists they have way less chance to thrive than males if they dont make music that the general public likes in the kpop industry. Females go head over heels for their male idols which is not the case for female idols cause they are less likely to have more female fans. Chungha is popular but not super popular. Cause if she was super popular she would have taken awards here and ther just like that. She is a rising star and has the capability to become a global superstar. Also she really deserved this award cause this album and this song depicts her artistry level as well and she worked way harder than all the nominees in the list to prepare this song and album

Its sad how female soloist try so much harder to give a perfect performance with live vocals and hard choreographys, but korea just doesn't appreciate it. I'm not despising kang daniel or anyone but we know that this industry is more unfair for women

@@Jadeifyre like if you dont have a stable position in korea as a female soloist you will get overshadowed by male soloists. Also do you think the voters are mostly males? No. most of them are more likely females who will surely vote for their male bias. Like iu is very well respected by the general public. Therefore to win she gets digital points easily but the votes, sales etc are lower. But since most of the points comes from digital it becomes easy for her to win. Also she makes songs which are loved by general public and doesnt try much different things with her music. But chungha is the versatility queen. She tries everything, daring and new. Therefore male idols are always at an advantage when it comes to award shows and stuff
