@@devilclown8533 Not necessarily, they would rather them talk as that means that the case is solved quicker. They do have the right to remain silent if they do so wish, but in cases like this remaining silent will bring on bigger charges, as you can be charged for the entire crime, not just the part you actually got involved with.

I'm not a lawyer but even i know the shoe print is not enough he should have kept his mouth shut.
I'm not a lawyer either, but when you correlate the shoe print found at the scene plus he used his access code twice around the time of the break in, I'm smart enough to know that he's the guy. I am sure you'd figure it out to.
I'm not a lawyer either, but she should have read him his rights BEFORE she began questioning him. If you walk up to a crime scene and a person starts shouting "I did it! I killed them!" there's not much you can do about that. But inviting someone in to specifically ask them questions regarding their role as a suspect in a crime...you needed to Miranda before you started asking. The whole point is to uphold their 5th Amendment rights against self incrimination. SCOTUS ruled that you can't assume they know their rights.
That guy is monumentally stupid.
@@pinkfire2344 Which is why she did so after, she can't use anything he said before she read him his rights, she can however use the things he said after he was advised of his rights.
@@pinkfire2344you don’t read Miranda until you place the subject under arrest (and this guy wasn’t under arrest, just being questioned). Also not a lawyer…

I think it's a reference to The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, a poem about a sailor who kills an albatross, thereby angering the spirits. He is forced to wear it as a burden tied around his neck.
An albatros is like a river
This case was "An Albatross" as in, whoever took it would have it hanging around their neck and be weighed down by it, unable to get rid of it.
