As a Kansas City in, I love that Eric Stonestreet seems like the kind of guy that I could bump into at Hy-Vee. And since I live here it’s entirely possible I could! I appreciate his answer about the stadiums. It’s a tough call, because on one hand they’re both beautiful and fun to visit. On the other hand downtown baseball stadium would be awesome. He’s also right on in that people wind and complained about replacing the airport terminal, made it sound like the worst thing ever, and now that people have seen the new terminal almost everything I hear is complementary. 90% of the complaints I hear come from people who remember when the original terminals opened and can’t let go. Anyway, Eric Stonestreet - Hollywood actor, comedian, well loved, and very much seems like a normal guy.
I don't want the twin stadiums to go under. I don't like this at all. But, I have no say because I grew up in KC but, live in Illinois now. Still a huge fan of the Royals and Chiefs. Will always be. As well as my brothers and sisters. Kansas City was the coolest city. I've said it before but, I will again - It's like the Austin of the Midwest. In a sea of dark red you have the music, art, history and culture in KC as well as the best sports teams. Kansas City is so under rated as a cool place to be. And the Royals! Second place. For so long they hung at third and now in second place. Playoffs! I just love them. On the day after the historic and awe inspiring performance of Ohtani it would be awesome if the Royals could get him but, he will never go. But, congrats to that amazing player.
I am old enough to remember going to watch the KC A's downtown. Perennial cellar team until they moved to Oakland. We got the Royals a few years later and I saw the open games. Doubleheader. We lost the first. We won the second and got Catfish Hunter to the showers. Ha! We boo'd every Oakland player. So fun. But, being downtown it was a total pain. The double stadium opened the day we moved because of dad's transfer. How devastating. but, I would bet going to Arrowhead and Royals stadiums are so much better then it was downtown
