Do you find it difficult to deal with the different types of farmers out there now? You have the rescue/hobby farmers & traditional farmers that butcher their animals within certain age groups depending upon the species.
I wouldn’t call it difficult. I understand there perspective and can appreciate it. I also know that a lot of them I started in there shoes and shared some of their same opinions and they will learn the same as I did. There perspective will evolve regardless. I also understand using certain verbiage makes money and unfortunately that is all that is there for and unfortunately the public will never know. The number of true rescues I have met can’t even fill up one hand. The best rescue I ever knew wasn’t even a rescue. And I have been in the animal industry selling to the public since I was 10 yrs old.
I started out thinking I would never eat my own animals. And after seeing with my own eyes how animals are commercial farmed it changed my perspective. We eat my favorite wild caught game and farm raised by us or our community. Also store bought meats looks and smells weird. Ground store bought meat when you start browning it. It smells like a lump jaw of a cow to me. So least to say it turns my stomach. Where as the farmer raised ground beef doesn’t smell like that. Hope this all makes sense lol
@RandomOkieFarms I wonder because my husband works for USDA as an inspector and some of the meat packing plants are nowhere near where he would want us to eat from. The larger plants are reducing their numbers of quality control on top of that.
Wish I could have been there would have bought the Buff Orpingtons. I like everything you video. You ladies seem to cover it all. Again so unfortunate that some folks take advantage of others. What if those eggs were bought for a child just thinking about getting into raising quail or any poultry and this happened to them. It may have changed their mind completely
I started working at the Stock Market when i was 11-12 yrs old!!! Id work the cow sale and the horse sale! I use to show the birds and pen cattle... Also, was raised on a farm! Miss that life! Youre living my dream girl!!!
I enjoy both seeing the available animals then heading over to the auction part to see how much they sale for. Your presentation of the available critters is spot on. I always want to see what you two are up to. The egg collection was definitely done in a careless way. That poor little quail!! You two do such a wonderful job incubating all the different egg types. I'm sorry they ripped you off Marie.
Thanks for sharing this auction. I find it so fascinating to see all the animals and how the eggs are at the auction. The goats are so cute! I would want to bring them all home! I paid $6.50 for lavender Orpington chicks in Northern CA. I couldn’t hear or understand what the auctioneer said was the average price of chicks at the auction.
I understand your frustration. It’s so cruel to the animals as well. Thanks for the insight Marie. There is always some That spoil and ruin it for the good people. Take care God Bless. 💕🙏
Hello Marie and FeFe. I do love checking out what is available at auctions! So I was excited to see all the eggs you brought home for hatching and was excited to see the button egg quials hatch. I am hoping there are still some good eggs that will hatch, since there is a lot number on the container are you able to go back and find out who brought the eggs to auction to begin with? Someone should have to answer for what they have done.🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
I love chickens. The saddest thing I saw was at Eddy's Farm. They have a real bad predator problem They had the most beautiful yellow buff Orphatans they got at a auction. They move all their chickens to the new dog pens except the Yellow Buffs. The buffs were beautiful. For some reason they let the male and female yellow buffs run free. The female buff had such a cute fluffy butt and she hung around the other birds outside of their cages. She found a half cage in the back of the cages and made herself a nest She was laying eggs every day. Stephanie went in the back to show her after a predator bite her head off and she still was on her nest and a egg was under her. For some reason it made me very upset that day. I see why chickens and other animals need to be in protected cages to survive. They lost all their sulkies that way. One by one they disappeared.I like the way you keep your birds well protected and I think you are beautiful especially when you wear a dress. You are beautiful in your mannerism too.
Hi Marie, You asked... so I am going to say .... I love seeing the different animals in all the videos but when it comes to the action part I fast forward , not interesting to me unless you are in person ( meaning me ). Sorry. Want to also write ... thanks for the info at the end wicked interesting !
I don't know how well received this comment will be, but many times kids are left the responsibility of collecting eggs. If they missed a nest and collected them without telling anyone or even knowing the difference that could be an explanation of why these eggs were partially incubated. I've never had button quail, but I've had Bob White, California Quail, and Chukar quail/partridges (some call Chukar quail and some call them partridges). They don't nest in boxes. They nest on the ground in random places and don't necessarily use the same spot twice. Their nests are very easy to miss. It's possible that someone collected out of a nest that was being set without realizing what the repercussions would be. PLEASE NOTE: I'm not blaming or casting aspersions on kids. LOL I just know my kids missed eggs so that could be a possibility.
I've noticed that some of those egg carton that has the eggs in them aren't handled gently. Yep, I've seen them be pushed around on the auction table so hard I think, umm that's going to be some scrambled eggs.☹❤🙏❤
At the auction I think the animals all look so scared and confused. I think it’s sad but I know that’s how it’s done. If I went to one I would want to take them all home and love on them. God bless
I have always liked you auction videos and Brandon had tried selling several of his 🐤🐥at an auction several days back and ended up bringing them back home since the selling price was very low so sad that you got scammed at an auction like the saying is Buyer beware too bad you can't get a guarantee when buying anything at an auction
Hey Marie i truly think that I s really really sad and i am so so sorry that happened to yall. Is it true that the only way to handle a button quail egg is with gloves on? Im just curious..
I didn’t even know that was a thing. We have definitely handled them differently and care for them differently than other birds. Keep in mind I am definitely not a button quail expert
I got him from our friend Kathy that raises all the horses we take you all to see. Here is her website www.avalon-equine.com/ I think she may have some of snoopy kin puppies right now
I prefer the cages and pens. The auction table portion tends to be too long, and I fast forward to see the closeups of the animals. Also, don't love to see the manhandling of the birds by the people. 🥺
I am so sorry about that little quail that didn't get a fair chance at life. Sorry too that you got ripped off Marie and your heart hurt for these little lives. The only thing I truly know about quail is how to hunt them, clean, and cook them. Wild quail was a huge part of my growing up and the best food I can remember eating. Those bought at the grocery store are down right nasty! Probably cage raised on grain or something...just nothing at all like quail my daddy and ex-husband used to get when they hunted. I'm not sure why people raise quail on farms...they are not good to eat unless they are 100% free range. They are a beautiful bird with a beautiful song I miss hearing. They were once plentiful in the NE Arkansas area I grew up in. A popular game bird. At least through farming the quail has not become extinct d/t over development of the country. I could so go on a rant about that...but won't. I'm older and glad of it. Glad I grew up in an era when things were still beautiful and not over run with generic suburbs, franchise stores, and restaurants, etc... I don't buy into the idea of modernization.
Marie I believe what y’all said about those eggs , they wanted to make fast cash, that isn’t right for the baby chicks or anybody that buys those eggs, keep us updated on the eggs now I am curious
If you need anything help I used to breed Chinese button quail Japanese quail harlequin quail California quail mountain quail and jungle bush quail I bred them for 10 years 😊
I am still confused as to why the one that hatched did not make it or the others might not hatch. What did the seller actually give you for this to go wrong? Was it because you thought they were younger and straight from the momma's touche, that they were able to sit out a couple days before they needed to be incubated? Thank you Marie. So frustrating that people can do this.
Fertile eggs can sit for quite a long time (a week) before they are incubated. After a week-ish the likelihood of them hatching diminishes. (I've had eggs out as long as 3 full weeks and most still hatched) The problem comes in when they are partially incubated (whether naturally or in an incubator) and then the process is stopped. The temperature differences interrupt chick development. The chick that died had incubation interrupted so development was stopped and restarted. Typically, the chick would die in the egg. That's why she said it "should not have hatched". We know it was partially incubated because it takes much longer than 6 days for a check to develop and hatch. When buying fertile eggs, it is expected that they were removed before the hen set the nest. Hens lay approximately an egg a day normally and don't set them until there are at least several. So, gathering every day would prevent natural incubation from starting. It's obvious from the chick hatching in 6 days that at least that egg was left under the hen for at least a week. If the other eggs were not collected before the hen set then it is not likely they will hatch. Sorry this is so long and I'm not Marie, but I hope it answers at least part of your questions. :)
@@Implied_Confessions Thank you so very much for taking the time to explain things to me. It's very much appreciated. So sad to both customers and the egg babies to do this. It takes lack of heart. I wish there was a way to track down people who do this. Warm thoughts out to you Camiken65.
Eggs can be removed from the incubator for short periods of time without it affecting the hatchability of the egg. They retain temperature for 20 to 30 minutes.

Hi Marie &FeFe so sorry that happened to you,,hugs 😢🥺The babies at the auction are all so beautiful ❤
Keep Going Keep Growing! Thanks
I like looking at Al the animals. ❤❤❤
That’s to bad about the quail…. Sad to think of the struggle!

I like the actual auction of the poultry. I raise chickens and like to see what breeds sell for what price.
Marie, I enjoy every visit with you but don’t believe I’m as fond of birds as you are😂😂
So sorry that happened. That's so cruel to the little baby 🐤 😢
It is cruel
Those Game Roosters are cool....so many different kinds of game chickens ❤

thats to bad you have to deal with this kind of stuff love the birds
Maybe the one egg was an honest mistake. It'll be interesting to see if the other button quail hatch.
Enjoyed the auction. That's awful how the eggs were sold. The little fella never had a chance.
Pied guineas are so pretty!
Yes they are
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching
Marie where did you get snoopy ? My 15 year old dachshund passed away last month and I'm looking for a new puppy.😊❤

Hey to my favorite ladies, I would be there with you at every auction.
Hey girl we would love that
Oh that’s so sad it didn’t stand a chance… cruel…
Very pretty dress & nice nails. : )
Marie i love everything you're a sweetheart ❤❤❤

You look very pretty in that dress. Thats so awful. Can there be anything you can do to warn people about the seller?
Poor little guy...I am praying you actually get some healthy chicks 🙏
I love your channel. We need some milkdud content 😂😂😂😂
Omg that first rooster had legs like lance Armstrong i hope I got his name right 😂😂 the athletic legs of someone who rides a bicycle all the time. 😂😂

WOW my friend is buying quail for a training hunt for his pup...he is paying $6 each quail
What is this world coming to? You can’t trust anyone anymore, it’s really sad!
Your right and its cruel to the babies trying to live
In answer to your rabbit question: they look like English Spot cross rabbits.
Marie....you need your own microphone. We couldn't hear you at the first part
People are sick and evil. Scammers and trolls just like on YT.
I'm sorry someone was willing to let all those quail die just to make money when if they were patient they could have made even more profit?😮🕯🧡💜🧡
The sell
I'm thinking everyone doing actions should wear same color shirts
Look like broken new Zealand
It would be funny to name chicks after the box they came in 😂😂😂
That is such a cute idea! If there are multiples in the same box they could be named for the "family" of product. Love it!
So sad everyone wants to make money off a life
I can barely hear you sorry I couldn’t follow the whole video.
