Thats a beer from my favorite brewery in southern Germany. About 70 miles away from my hometown. If you ever get the chance to try the Schorschweizen 13 with an abv of 13%, try it. Btw its brewed strictly according to the German Purity Law using special malts and special brewing methods. Its the best wheat beer I had. Cheers
I’d love to see one of the popular whisky youtubers review this. I’d be interested to what someone who’s used to drinking cask strength whisky thinks of it.
Great video, love the unboxing at the beginning. Even for an eisbock the ABV is huge! Might as well drink whisky, haha. The French brewery La Debauche makes a really good eisbock called "Sacred Heart" and the first batch was at 23% abv.
Personally the thing I like about beer is that the ABV isn't that high, so you can enjoy more of the liquid without getting too drunk or suffering a massive hangover (unless you're exclusively having Duvel's...). This looks like it would be fun to try once, but for regular consumption I'll stick with my 4.4 - 5.2% ABV beers thank you very much :)
I have a bottle, but haven’t opened mine yet. The plan is to open it with a bunch of friends who also purchased it. Maybe we’ll have to video our tasting. Cheers!! 🍻
Their methods are similar to how ice wine is made - only that begins with the grapes themselves being frozen and only a small amount of concentrated juice is left at the tip of the grape. Incredible methods, but the end result of ice wine tastes incredible. Nice video and explanation, Simon. Cheers!
I appreciate a good glass of whiskey. If I were only into beer, I could definitely see how this would bring this kind of reaction. As it stands, I’m curious what a whiskey reviewer would think.
Samual Adams Utopia, I think that is about 28% and it was good 👍 but and its a big but. Its about £150 bottle and I tried it in America at my uncles. It was actually good and a decent size bottle. I called it a sipping beer like whiskey (if you believe such things can exist) 😂
Might be worth tasting it with a drop of water in there (as you often do with cask strength whiskey) to let the volatiles open up and get past the burn
Anyone who has ever bought anything on Amazon ever with that packaging! Also, alcohol legs? I thought that's what happens after a night out stumbling home.
A note to german ,Bockbier'. Most people think, it has its name from ,Bock' , which means a male sheep, goat, roe, antelope ( in general a male goatlike annimal), such annimals are often painted on bottles or cans. But that is not true. This strong type of beer was invented in german town ,Einbeck'. It was liked all over Germany, but only weathier persons could buy it. One day Duke of Bavaria asked the ruler, to whos territory Einbeck belonged: Please send me a brewer from this town to my brewery. This happened, but for different dialect reason, the bavarian brewers misinterpreted the townname Einbeck as ,ein ( one) Bock', so the not in Bavaria invented ,Bockbier' became its name..
OMG that bottle makes your hands look MASSIVE lol, wish I'd got hold of a couple to sit on a shelf as a talking point but sold out, but at that price 2 Mmmmmmm. Another great entertaining review nice one cheers 👍🍻
While Snake Venom is stronger on paper, some say that they add pure ethanol to get it up, rather than just doing pure freeze distillation so I think this is a better choice for the strongest beer tbh.
I mean, 40ml at 57% is roughly one standard drink. So the whole little bottle would be about the same as a standard 1.5oz pour of whiskey or the like at 40%
Nice bit of rocket fuel on the opening. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. As it goes down Simon's throat it's as if he's drinking stuff that's gone off. What's the point ??? I'd rather have 10 pints at 5.7 % over a certain amount of time and enjoy it, not endure it. The bottle in time will be worth a bit I would imagine though.
It's really not beer anymore, its been distilled. Just get a stout and freeze it in a soda bottle what doesn't freeze is your distillate and will drain out leaving the ice.
The Brewmeister beer couldnt have been authentic. Brewdog and schorschbräu were scrambling to get the last few % together and now a complete newbie comes and tops everything by 10%. I dont think so
I managed to get a bottle of this. I was really disappointed that Brewdog, a company that is now pushing to be eco-friendly, packed this in such a ridiculous way. Haven't opened mine and don't intend on doing it. Would've thought that the world's strongest beer would've been at least certified along with the bottle on delievery.
Used to work in the bars for about 6 years. You’d actually be shocked at the amount of plastic and waste produced by packaging, even after they announced their eco friendly campaign.
This bottle size is in Germany used for a ,Doppelter'. This means, when you go to a german inn, and you want a high alcohol drink, for example an Obstler if you are an elder guy, or a Rum etc. , then you usually get a ,Schnapsglas' of 0,02 l. If you order the high alcohol drink as ,ein Doppelter'/ a double one, you get a large glass with 0,04 l. For the people, who like strong alcohol drinks, small bottles of 0,02 or 0,04l are produced. But: The consumers of such small bottles are very often, perhaps mostly, alcoholics.
The Tactical Nuclear Penguin was great but damn this gets silly. No one should drink too much of this stuff in a sitting as it’s not like a modern spirit where the distillers discard the methanol before they capture the “good parts”
well not really as outside lab conditions the highest you can get to is 97%, and the max when you take into account efficiency would be around 95% (Like Everclear)
if you’re thinking of buying this, buy paint stripper, it’s a lot cheaper and tastes the same!

If its a non export German beer then of course its according to the purity law.
Appreciate the tip I’ll be sure to try get my hands on this, Weißbier always tastes nicer than any lager, IPA, stout in my opinion
No wheat beers are covered by the Reinheitsgebot. It only applies to bottom fermented beers
@@drsabonete Depends on which Reinheitsgebot you are referencing. Technically there is not "the Reinheitsgebot".

True!
Would be good to see ralfy do this
Send it to bourbon drinkers as the cask strengths nowadays are regularly above 60 percent

Brewdog says that their CO2 emissions are negative, but the package hahaha. Hi from México 🇲🇽
Brilliant video, when I saw this pop up in my newsfeed I thought I hope Simon reviews it.
I have a bottle, but haven’t opened mine yet. The plan is to open it with a bunch of friends who also purchased it. Maybe we’ll have to video our tasting. Cheers!! 🍻
I'm waiting for mine to arrive. I enjoy neat whisky anyway so I'm looking forward to trying this. It's sold out now so it's a real rarity.
This would make a good gift for someone who likes there craft beers and whisky

I can't find it on their website. Probably cannot get it here in Canada, would love to try it
I love it. Would have been the most perfect Christmas present for my dad and brother but of course they’ve sold out.
Excellent stuff 👏☺️
Simon I think the first video ov you I seen was you reviewing sink the Bismarck.......it was murky looking I remember. Great item to review
You should’ve chewed it before swallowing. That’s what we do with whisky and this is like a cask strength
Nice explanation from the eisbock story. Cheers to that hahaha

I'm just looking forward to your review of Circling Sharks! Such a great beer!!
I definitely want to try some. I’ve drank everclear straight so I’m sure I can handle it.
Doesn’t that removing ice method increase the concentration of methanol too in contrary to distillation where the methanol is removed?

Hopefully it is on the untapped app so I will order it and check it in
World's smallest beer.
Brilliant review sir
If it's brewed by Brewdog you can pretty much assume that it'll be shit. That's how I roll these days.
It's a bit like building the largest building in the world just to make the record books. The building fell over the same day... :)

The hand rub they've been handing out for free is stronger than this 😉😉😉
That is cask strength right there, maybe if you add a bit of water it might improve the flavor as in whiskey.
Does this leave lots of fusels like applejack
Drinks this you will be on the floor . Thanks for reviewing Simon

How do I order great Kraft beers from all around the world like this?

World's most recent strongest beer 🍻 looks like a bottle of hot sauce, kicks likes one too I imagine
Any on-tap, happy hour deals for this?
Glad you got it mate. Tagged you in the original post on Twitter
Not a session beer then...
dirk diggler freak
@dirk diggler 🤣🤣🤣
every beer is sessionable! If you’re brave enough 🤣
Hahaa
Jack MeHoff it’s drinking a lot of pints over a period of time. Something that happens in pubs across the Uk.
A quick google search tells me this is the same alcohol percentage as Laphroaig 10 yr cask strength..
Dan Jordan Laphroaig 10yr is amazing!
It’s a novelty beer treat it for what it is.
What did that cost US Dollar wise?

£28.95 for 40ml

Ale Craft Beer Reviews love louis shirley
Super Cheers 🍺👍
how much does it cost for that tiny little bottle of lager
You know a beer dangerous when it comes in that size.
Chocolate coffee caramel roasted malts touch of prune figs.
Roasted malt on the back end
Process seems similar to making apple jack
We used to drink the blue and black absinthe that was 80%
Bock is a lager not an ale mate!
I’d drink this if I was in Antártica.. right before heading out to explore.
You didn't even chill it....no one wants to drink a warm beer
wonderful!
Brewmeister snake venom is 67.5
What's the point?
Francis Fukuyama also predicted the end of history, though not in the brewing beer sense.
To me it seems to taste like a type of cognac or bourbon but I could be wrong.
So it's £35, you 'wouldn't drink it', and it's an 8/10? Hmmm.
🍺 $?I’m drinking a Budweiser while watching this🧙♂️🍻🤙🏽
That's quite a hefty measure! :-o
You look like you really enjoyed the flavor 😂
Is basically freeze-distilled whiskey?
It's "freeze-distilled" beer, because freeze-distillation isn't distillation at all.
What is an Eisbock ? It's a fancy C19 hand sanitizer 🤲 :D:D
Is there any point in drinking something that strong? You might as well be drinking laboratory grade ethanol.
A small beer with a big punch 👊...
Equivalent to paying £506 per 70cl bottle...
What's the point .
