I HAD a G2c, but it got stolen, (it was my very first gun that I owned), so I replaced it with the G3c. Love them both! I also got the bigger size G3 - same gun, just larger. They work fine, they're accurate, and they don't cost a lot. Definitely worth the money. Another selling point for me, is during cleaning, the EASE in which the firing pin can be removed. Takes about 10 seconds to take it out. I had a Beretta 9mm, and a Ruger 22, both excellent guns as well, but it took over 30 minutes and a punch set to get the firing pins out. Not to forget the springs that go flying across the room no matter how careful you are. G3 mags WILL work in the G3c if you're in a situation where you need them. They just stick out the bottom. And I have some extra G2c mags in the drawer that weren't with the gun when it was stolen, and those mags work with the G3c. (They're too short to go into the G3, in case anyone was wondering. Yes, I tried it. lol.) And in the G3c and the G3, I replaced the polymer guide rods and firing pin cover sleeves with stainless steel ones. Not because of any problems, just to have something stronger in there just in case later on. I also used the laser coupon that came with the G3 and G3c and got $30 off each. Have them on both guns, and they fit like gloves and work great. So, you can't go wrong with any version of this gun.

I have both of these and the main reason for buying the 3 was that the trigger on the 2 had a tendency to hang up if you didn't have just the tip of your finger perfectly on the blade safety. Still could feel a "catch" as it was close to the firing point. Have cleaned, lubricated and attempted to smooth the action out a bit on the 2 but just didn't seem to affect it. Have fired the 2 quite a bit and it is an accurate, dependable CC firearm. Wish I could change the 2's slide onto the 3 but know that won't work.
Just saw both the G2C and the G3C at the local store. G3C was on sale for the same price as the G2C $269 although they also had another G2C with a stainless slide for the same price.
Good review. I'm another who has both. Got a G3 first and liked it so I went back and got a G2C for carry. No problems with either. So far, I haven't found anything to not like. They feed both ball and HP, factory or reloaded ammo. A little orange nail polish helped the front sight a lot. I picked up a couple of inexpensive Kydex holsters, one for each. I suppose the G2C will be my carry gun, but I might want to take "the big one" along from time to time. I haven't had to adjust the sights yet, but I believe the G2C sights are adjustable for windage and elevation, at least on the one I just purchased in 2023. Perhaps an upgrade since your report.
I have both of them, the grip texture on the G2C is way nicer IMO - wish they hadn't changed that. I actually also have the G2C in 40S&W and same grip texture as the 9mm G2C. Taurus has really been improving with some of their new models lately. You could even argue the TX22 is the best in class for the type of pistol it is. If they'd just stop making the junk, they could explode.

Taurus has addressed a few problems since the PT111g2. They had a problem with taurus's slide lock engaging while shooting, which they removed on the g2c. They had a problem (mostly in colder climates) with the thin trigger safety blade breaking. They fixed that problem with the much thicker one on the g3c. The plastic sights were dookie, which they addressed on the g3c. Now the only thing they need to address is the plastic guide rod. It's known to break rendering the pistol useless. Easy $30 upgrade to fix that though.
Round in the chamber indicator bar, really the difference maker for the G2C, how many times do you visually check to see if the chamber is clear? Now you can easily feel the slide and know if it is loaded or not. Rumor has it the G2C is being phased out, better get yours before it is too late.

The prices has gone up $100-150. I got mine too late. The G2c . But worth compared to other brands. They went up as well. And now you can’t find them. Either one
In the old models the trigger assembly is weak in the frame. with a lot of wear they will begin to rock back an fourth on the single pin as a pivot point. this can cause the slide stop to catch the slide when rounds are still in the magazine. Have no idea if they have addressed this problem or not.
November 2020 and G3C is out of stock everywhere.. Where is a good place to get a G3C at a good price in South Florida? Any restrictions in Florida with having it shipped to home? Can I keep it in my van without a concealed license? In Highlands county Lake Placid Florida, say I need to walk across some wooded public land with no houses or streets, do I need a conceal permit if I carry it in plain sight for a 3 mile hike?
‘bout to invest in my first and take the license class. still deciding which one to get but my thinking is start with a “quality for the money” budget one anyway. someday i want the Kort 9mm I had seen Ian McCullum review on Forgotten Weapons. It’s like, a mercedes g wagon of a hand gun😅

Angel, I did my G2c, XD-E and Rock CS Tac II .45 the same way. Non acetone nail polish remover to clean off the oil residue first and nail polish. Takes 2-3 applications, drying between each. Simple and cheap plus you can use any color you want. I did pearl on my G2c, gold on my XD and red on my Rock CS. Clean up excess around the lettering using a woman's makeup pad lightly dampened with the remover and rub lightly. Be sure to use non acetone remover to keep from marring the bluing. Don't like the color or want to change? Easy to remove using an ear swab and the polish remover.

@@Rubeless A longer barrel/slide pistol tends to exhibit less recoil than a smaller barrel/slide pistol. & smaller frames that hold 10 to 12 rounds are more comfortable to carry, as well as easier to conceal. In my opinion...
Your opinion is incorrect. The added weight of that longer slide reciprocating back and forth with less area to hold it makes the recoil more. Why do you think weak children choke up on bats? Drawing a pistol from concealed with a longer barrel has no advantage. Get some training.
Why didn't you pull down the slide takedown stop when trying to fit the g2c slide to the g3c, or vice versa? I've noticed with a threaded Lakeline LLC barrel in my G2C, that the assembled slide WON'T go backwards into proper place UNLESS I pull that takedown stop downward, then pull the slide back. SADLY, MY LAKELINE NITRIDED/THREADED BARREL refused to work in my G2C, so I'm wondering about using a g3c slide/Lakeline barrel on my G2C since no g3c guns have reported problems with the Lakeline barrels.

Not too bad, out of the box for the G3c. I have a G2 that has really impressed me.
May need to get the g3c... been edc my pt111g2 for years.
Excellent presentation style packed full of great information. Thank you.
I have the G2 and love it perfect gun
November 2020 and G3C is out of stock everywhere.. Where is a good place to get a G3C at a good price in South Florida? Any restrictions in Florida with having it shipped to home? Can I keep it in my van without a concealed license? In Highlands county Lake Placid Florida, say I need to walk across some wooded public land with no houses or streets, do I need a conceal permit if I carry it in plain sight for a 3 mile hike?
You can upgrade your Taurus G3C slide for a Toro slide with all the plates for $150.00
Thats expensive af
@@clinteastwood666 and pointless
At least you can feel if a chamber is loaded in the dark with the G2compact with the awesome raised round indicator.
Just bought my new Taurus G3C at local shop for $249.99 with three 12 round mags.
G3c is great i got it a month ago i love it
My Wife likes the trigger on the G3C better than the G2C I bought her but both are excellent!!! I traded her G2C for the G3C
I own the Taurus G2C. Great pistol. I don't really need the G3C.
Great video.
‘bout to invest in my first and take the license class. still deciding which one to get but my thinking is start with a “quality for the money” budget one anyway. someday i want the Kort 9mm I had seen Ian McCullum review on Forgotten Weapons. It’s like, a mercedes g wagon of a hand gun😅
thanks for the info on the shirt, found it thanks again
I have the G2c good gun for the money. I tried the trigger on the G3c saw no difference. I wish Taurus would put the trigger system from the TX22. much better!
I have a G2c and it didn't come with the letters color filled. Its used so whoever owed it did that.
Chris, I really appreciate your optimism that we will return to normal. Possibly due to old age and cynicism, I have a suspicion we will never return to the normal of just one year ago. In total seriousness, my hope is you are correct and my fears are baseless.
The G2C started the low budget great handgun💯
I just got my replacement of my pt111 pro they gave me a g2c omg I love it feels better than all of my Springfield xd I am definitely going to buy a g3c because this was my first handgun I bought over 10 years ago “pt111 pro” anyone of the pt111 pro mags work with the g2c and g3c I put my pt111 pro mags and they fit 🤷🏽♂️
G2C is the updated version of the Millennium PT111
Kinda wish the G series was modular... A G3C size frame with a G3 length slide and barrel would be sweet.
What would be the purpose of that?
@@Rubeless A longer barrel/slide pistol tends to exhibit less recoil than a smaller barrel/slide pistol. & smaller frames that hold 10 to 12 rounds are more comfortable to carry, as well as easier to conceal. In my opinion...
Your opinion is incorrect. The added weight of that longer slide reciprocating back and forth with less area to hold it makes the recoil more.
Why do you think weak children choke up on bats?
Drawing a pistol from concealed with a longer barrel has no advantage.
Get some training.
@@Rubeless Uhh... Okay. I wasn't asking a question, I was making a statement. But thanks for your unsolicited expert advice.
The G2C never came with colored engraving marks. That was done by the owner.
Shiii first ever gun I ever shot was a g2c but It could’ve been a g3 but all ik is I feel in love with the Taurus
You can buy a G3c magazine for your G2c, bump up your capacity to 15+1 and still have a slightly smaler pistol.
What about the spring guide rod, is it plastic or metal ? Thanks !
G2c. I’ve never had one problem with it, and by the way, it shoots the same bullets as the most expensive guns they all go bang.
what is the best type of 9mm ammo should be used for both the G3c & G2c?
I know this is old but my Taurus G2c likes 115 and 124 grain federal FMJ
@@balitrix for range mine really like 115 pmc or 115 fiochhi training. For defense can't beat federal home defense hp115 or 124 or gold dot hp147. They can shoot +p ammo golden sabre ain't bad neither.
@@michaelmiller4568 I haven’t tried those yet, I’ll have to though if I can find any in stock
August 2022, Bass Pro is selling either new at about a $20 difference. Since the G3C comes with three mags then it probably is the best bargain. How do they pocket carry?
Got my G2c two weeks ago but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Ammo is expensive and hard to get.
Dont have a problem finding either
You do not have to pull the trigger to remove slide , if you don't pull the slide so far back.
I have a G2c but my slide stamps are all blacked out. Looks way better.
I would consider buying the G3c if they upgraded the trigger pull of the G2c. Looks like they haven't reduced the initial trigger pull.
If you have a leather holster the G3 Will fit into the holster made for the G2 leather only if you have a Kydex holster it will not
Are they interchangeable with the same kydex holster?
No.
The accessory rail on the GC3 is longer.
G2c dropped in price it's 250-265 now I had a g2s which was terrible compared to the g2c and g3c but it's a very solid edc I'm getting one for my wife and I'm getting the g2 or g3 for myself cause I have bigger hands
I have both g3 an g2 the g2 runs longer than g3 my g3 starts to jam up just need to clean they both good guns
I'd rather have Novak sights instead of Glock style sigh[s and I prefer a tactile loaded chamber indicator over something that you can't see in the dark.
Does anyone know the part name for the magazine release for the G2C? Trying to find a replacement? My release doesn't lock in my mag unless I push it to one side?
Funny how people will go cheap on a weapon, but throw down $700 on a mobile phone every 12-18 months, which has next to no resale value.
The only “cheap” gun I own is a ruger 10/22, but my life doesn’t depend on it every day.
My work gun and carry gun are Glocks, my 1911 is a Dan Wesson, my rifles are Daniel Defense and my phone is provided by my employer.
Who makes your pocket protector Gilbert?
That’s cool I’m from Indiana
I got a g3c in 40, and just got a g3c toro 9mm
I can't remember what these improve on the original PT111 G2?
Pretty much just eliminated the key lock thing.
