Great to hear! It's a very nice watch. Let me know what you think of it as you use it. It's always so nice getting more people's feedback on these watches. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Thanks Matt! No one’s really reviewing this gem right now, and I think this will benefit most of the running/fitness population. Looking forward to the comparison video soon!
I'm working on the comparison video now! I think I could probably live without running power. For $200 this is a pretty good option. Thanks for checking this one out Dominique Monido!
That's a lot of value for not much money. There's a ton of people who could easily use this as a basic GPS on their bikes, and this saves a lot over a bike computer
Yeah, that's an interesting point that I haven't thought about. I think it's nice to have a dedicated bike computer but I have tons of friends who just use watches. It'd be an interesting option. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Great video, Matt! Oddly enough, I have to admit to being more intrigued by this watch than by the Pacer Pro. I'm not sure why. I will say I have to agree; there seems to be quite a bit more features in this watch than I would expect in a "basic" running watch.
I bought a Suunto 9 Peak in August that I returned after 15 days because it restarted by itself. Since it was impossible for me to buy it again at the offer price (€210) and seeing how the prices did not stop rising, I waited until the Christmas campaign was over and today I bought the Pacer for €119. The Pacer Pro was also for an interesting €169 but the truth is that I am not competitive and I mostly swim in the pool (I hope it count them well, because it is very annoying when the watch fail), swimming in open water, some MTB, some trips in Bikepacking and walking. I hope I was right.
I think the Pacer will do ok. If you do odd swim strokes or mix stuff up a bit I'm sure it'll miss a few laps. But overall, I bet it'll be ok. Keep me posted on what you think!
Be sure to let me know what you think after you get it and use it a bit. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
That would be a fun one! I actually had to return the Forerunner 55 to Garmin so I'd have to buy it to do that comparison. I think it'd come down to if a user wanted to do any triathlon or not. Or if you really prefer one brand and ecosystem over another. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand Great video. I was comparison between this and the Garmin Forerunner 55. It cant do open water swim so I say this Polar Pacer is the only option left for triathaletes am I right? The forerunner 255 or 265 are way out of my budget.
This actually tested pretty well in open water swimming on my Polar device. I’d say more accurate than the Coros Pace 2. In the pool, it’s about the same as the Pace 2. I haven’t found a way to plug in distances for kick sets or drill sets but other than that, it’ll keep track of distance swam. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it Alan. 👍
@@mlegrand Thank you so much for answering me! Another thing is, Either Coros and Garmin stoped giving international warranty back here in Brazil, its only covered when bought here. If you could help me on that I would be realley gratefull. Im asking that cause I have a trip for the US on september. Matt, im here again! 😅 I found the polar vantage m on amazon for 120,00 bucks, did some research and it looks like the major diference between the vantage m and the polar pacer is the battery. Do you think is a good deal?
Matt.. If you had to choose.. fr255 or grit x pro.. what would you do? (I don't need pay and music on board).. i need good recovery.. sleepdata etc .. Let me Know.. Love thé channel! Greetz from Belgium
That's a hard call. For me personally, I'd pick the non-music FR 255 but I much prefer the swim tracking on the Garmin watches. Recovery and sleep tracking seem to be getting better on Garmin. It's hard to pass on the Polar. I love their ecosystem and recovery tracking. It might come down to what company you've had in the past and if you'd like to try something different. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

I’m not sure. I think you can edit time and duration but I’m guessing you want a fully customized workout. Maybe reach out to Polar and see what they have to say?
Thanks for the video! I‘m thinking about buying my first sports watch. Do you know if all GPS functions work without a smartphone attached while running? I want to go running without a smartphone, only carrying the watch. Therefore I‘m interested if the watch still provides me with all the GPS related information about my run. Thanks ahead for your reply.
Hi Maurus! Yes, this watch will work without a connection to a smart phone. Polar does make watches that require it but this is not one of them. Let me know what you end up going with and how you like it. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
How do you see the Pacer compared to the M2?. I’m not big into running but multi-sports. But GPS, and on-display features compared to the M2 seem a better deal.
I have both the Pacer and the M2 and I would pick the Pacer over the M2 any day. They both have a lot of the same features. The Pacer seems more accurate, has a faster operating system and brighter screen which is the biggest issue for me personally. Let me know what you end up with and what you think of it. 👌
