Today we visit the ex-RAF Honeybourne, Honeybourne village and All Things Wild exploring the history of the area!
Helicopters, Runways, Air Raid Shelters and Spigot Mortars!
My late father in law was stationed at Honeybourne and met my mother in law here .Her parents had the concession to sell fish and chips to the airmen and he was an airframe fitter.I inherited his RAF tools including hammers and steel dolly's which I used daily untill my recent retirement. They settled in the area during the late 60's.
Hi, there are 3 spigot mortar mounts at that road junction.
Great video, thank you for sharing.
Very cool, i love looking at old abandoned airfields, its a shame most have been sold off or just left to fall apart when you consider the sacrifice made by men and women in the second world war.
I may be mistaken but the helicopter is a Wessex as the Whirlwind was a twin engined single seat fighter from WWII
It's a Whirlwind. The Wessex is twin engined.
Why the "All things Wild" Whirlwind photo as a header, when there is no video of it?
Building at 2.00 mins looks like an officers mess or barrack building with the shelter just outside😊
