I lived in the Bozone late 70’s before it had a strip … incredible country and great skiing … back when it was a tiny college town that I loved.

    UPDATE ! ! !
The southern loop of Yellowstone NP opened up today, Wednesday June 22nd, at 8:00 a.m. MST. They hope to have the upper loop open in a couple of weeks. When they do open the upper loop, no driving past Mammoth Hot Springs north, nor driving past Tower Junction going east. I haven't heard about Roosevelt Lodge opening, yet it is the smallest location and usually opens for lodging/food last. If you haven't tried the restaurant there, you ought to do it at least once. They are famous for BBQ ribs and their famous beans!!!

1:18 that's the golf course under water!
Hey all, please stop in Livingston on your way to and from the park. We have museums, great restaurants, a lovely downtown with great shopping, walk along the riverbank of the Yellowstone at Sacajawea Park, do some fly fishing, go golfing along the river, we have quality thrift stores, too. July 2-4 is the Annual Rodeo! Complete with a parade downtown on the 2nd (at 3 p.m.), and fireworks after the rodeo each night. Farmer's Market each Wednesday evening complete with live entertainment, at the Band Shell next to the Civic Center. :-)
Go down to Chico Hot Springs in the valley; they have all sorts of activities as well a a thermal Olympic sized swimming pool.
Folks can get to Gardiner now, too! Soon the river rafting will start. Lots of nice motels, souvenir shopping (no sales tax!), shopping galore, camping, and more!

I lived on 9th Street Island in an apartment many years ago there in Livingston .. It was always a concern in the spring. Tough deal for such a beautiful place !

Hope everyone is OK. We always stayed in the resort on the island in the river while on our way to see family in MN, beautiful spot, beautiful memories. I think the resort has been gone for a while now.

River & mother nature. I grew up on a river. It is only a matter of time. Same with oceans.

I thought about going down there today, but I definitely don't want to be one of those people who's just in the way. Leaving the roads open for residents and emergency personnel today.

Beautiful. Good to see the river at peace again, tho I know destruction remains.

Karl - incorrect. Any creek/stream/river runs cloudy thru run-off season. Some is from organic debris flushing out after icebound, some recently dislodged flora & ground, some from naturally occurring mineral deposits. Come July, the Yellowstone will be running clear, the fish still there and apocalypse evaded.

the river is only muddy from the sediment that was dredged from the flood .. its dirt not pollution!

Besides park employees, do people reside inside the park?

Nope, just park employees and contractors working on things in temporary housing.

i hope people remember that it is a river" and not some channel or tiny creek ..
it will always produce flooding , landsliding and erosion along its banks ..
give it room and it will give you peace ..
if you overbuild it on every side it will cause havoc on every side ..

Too bad all that extra water was not "harvested" to be saved for "a rainy day!' ;)
