Theirs only 318 projectiles in that load. TSS18 7# only has 182 pellets per ounce. Not sure if a lot of people realize it since it’s denser heavier per pallet there’s actually less number of pellets then if it was lead or hevi shot per ounce for the same size pellet. For a load like this you need to really work on different chokes to even get enough pellets at 50 yards to feel comfortable. If I was buying a production TSS load I’d look for 9 shot for pattern density but you will lose energy on long range. One ounce number 9 shot TSS18 has almost 400 pellets in it. A 7x9 TSS load would be a hammer but straight sevens takes a lot to make them pattern past 50 yards in 1 3/4. If you wanted to run a hammer like TSS18 7# in 12ga then roll the 2 1/4 load if you can find them!$$$ at least a 2oz load of 7# if not go back to 9 shot. TSS18 9# of 1 3/4 oz has 675 pellets, big difference!
I’ve been waiting for the turkey series return since the wrap up of the last one. I am sad though that Wilson’s customs closed up shop was really looking forward to getting my hands on a box 😢. These patterns are just not that great. Maybe it’s a multitude of things but the stars didn’t align on these. Great video as always and glad to see them back 🇺🇸
@@vernonwilson4762 that’s awesome to hear! I was just going off the last Facebook post which was a bummer to read. Looking forward to seeing your product come back.
have a nice day are you satisfied with the shotgun, did it make a problem shotgun, or has there been a rust problem on the shotgun, Thank you for your answer
Yea not to bad n were not closing up just not selling online this year due to some issues but hopefully everything works out n keep up the pattern tests guys it's awesome
Nice job guys . Let's get ready for turkey season. Deer was hard bust for me. Missed one archery crossbow. Missed one I jump out rifle in state forest in Pennsylvania with 3006. Dad got nice one in state forest. So pump their got doe back home. Had lay up all late season do surgery I had to do over Christmas just get released from all that mess.
@codytaylor2194 got done this pass year took a nice deer with the 30-06 . Video is up. Archery was train wreck to say if lot hunter out for small game only seeing few deer moving bc of the warm weather.
The Kent 7s i believe is the old 15gr/cc so even though its a 7 shot, there will be a pretty decent number more pellets. Im glad he had said he would go back to longbeard xr over this load of tss 7s cause thats all i was thinking all along. Sure, its better than every other lead load EXCEPT for longbeard, but cost as much for 5 as longbeard does for 10. And i dont believe it patterns better at all.
For me I started patterning turkey loads over 25 years ago .I never great pattern with Remington with my guns and choke and Winchester either until they came out with Longbeard xr. That's awesome loads!!! Years ago Activ was #1 and then Federal was next. Now I use Tss hand loads or if lead Winchester Longbeard xr . 🦃🦃🦃
Idk. I think Nitro Turkey is more than good enough for real turkey hunting. You don’t need a basketball sized pattern at 40 yards to kill a turkey. If you do than you need to spend more time practicing your calling than patterning your gun. Not saying you aren’t a good turkey hunter btw. I just think that this quest for the tightest pattern possible is a little ridiculous.
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA I’ve watched quite a lot of your vids and I’m not accusing you guys of being fixated on uber tight patterns. I agree that the second pattern has a very bizarre diagonal pattern.
Ya I was gonna say we are all about uniform patterns tight patterns look cool but uniform patterns has your back afield we kill our birds tight to us while filming so leeway is beautiful
I think Jebs and mueller have had the best patterns overall. Not always but if stitched all together they average the best I would say. Especially when doing duck load tests
I’d say it all depends on the setups at hand and each viewers definition of best It’s all open for translation what’s the beauty of it we all have different needs and applications we need our setups to perform in so our patterns. Desired vary big time
Remington just has not performed out past 30 yards. I'll bet you'll get better pattern with REM target loads 11/8 of 7.5 than what you got here. Keep them coming. Especially those 28s
Definitely not what BCO nation is accustomed to! That said, it’s still TSS with TSS penetration value, and the .670, or even stock full might tidy it up a bit. Mostly what it did was make me a happy camper we got our #9’s approved in my home state.

Good to see the pattern test back!!! My personal favorite is my load in 7’s 20 gauge. Let’s see a 16 gauge load
I agree to the favorite test!

Clean your gun proper and you’ll never see rust

Chris is right, Remington shot has always been kinda garbage. I'm jacked to see the pattern series starting back up. Thanks guys!

Did NY change its law on what shot type you can use for the 2023 turkey season?
Yessir we can shoot 9’s now
Still no 10’s but least we got 9’s

Try the new herters tss if you haven’t planned to already
We shall look for it!
Love the pattern series
Same!
Oh boy it won't be long now....
100%! Still blown away you watch our content I love your channel! 🔨🔨
Has the forcing cone been lengthened on your gun? It cut down my fliers.
It has on his yes
My 410s would put that to shame at 40 yd lol. That was rough to watch lol.
Yes lol

Did you ever pattern with a factory xf or f choke and try any 9s?
I’m pretty sure we have here’s the whole 410 stevens play list

@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA didn’t know 410s had a .665 choke option…
They don’t thought you commented on the 410 test he filmed hence why I said what I did
Can’t win em all
Welcome 2023! Let's start at the bottom. There's only one way to go from there.
I agree with moose. I'd just get the xr's. I had them shoot well for me last season.
They hammer no doubt!
Hell frickin yes!!!!! I’ve been waiting on this, let’s go boyyyssss. Slap them thunder chickens in the face
LETSSSS GOOOOO 🔨🔨🔨
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA as rough as that pattern was I’ve had worse in the years last before premium ammo and choke combos
We’ve had tons of bad patterns it happens never know what to expect!

It’s about what I expected lol

Ooo Wel be grindin’ 🕺🏼🔨
cant believe wilsons has closed down
Hoping they resume next spring!
. 650 choke in 12 guage for tss, it likes it tight
I have to strongly disagree based on our testing thus far
Every gun is different though

100% I’ve been pushing for 9’s for two years with our DEC sending patterns & penetration tests to prove tss lethality
I hope none of mine look that bad... 🤞 😅
I have high hopes they will not lol
That .655 would have killed 2 gooblers in 1 shot
Heck yeah it's that time!! I've seen better patterns out of lead 7's lol
We’ve seen A LOT better out of sub gauges ahahaha
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA yeah that too lol
Wel get it hammerin!
Thanks for the video but $10 bucks a round? No thanks.
Price is literally nothing compared to what people spend to hunt turkeys crazy how $10 seems like to much to pay for performance
