Great show fellas, however the PRS SSKY wasn't meant to replicate the strat, it was designed by a professional guitarist who had certain preferences with "S" style guitars and he was able to manifest those preferences for to PRS to build! They succeeded and I love my SSKY farr more than a Fender AP2 I had recently... I dig the pups, horn designs, curvatures and headstock! My only upgrades will be locking tuners (oem tuners work fine; they just look cheap!) , a black pickguard over the piano black body and a black truss rod cover that says PRS! Bravo PRS BRAVO! Fender people mod their pro level guitars so what's all the snifflin about? 😂😂😂 It just jives and for those where it doesn't jive, have different preferences! Lastly, the PRS SSKY is different than most Fenders, not better! Grateful for shows like this...
I'm a humbucker guy, but I was finally ready to dip my toe in the single coil world. I started out looking for an American Strat, and I bought the Silver Sky. The silver sky was just an easier transition sonically from humbuckers, and the Fender has this ear piercing sound half down the switch all the way to bridge that I just could not wrap my ears around. In my opinion, PRS does Gibson better than Gibson and Fender better than Fender.
I like Gibson, but I know there a hit and a miss, but at their best and at their vintage 60's / 50's their exceptional, but I think for such similarity and modern build, Epiphone has become the sensible choice with guitars like their 335 sheratons and their epi 2021 les paul classics, I also think Fender is amazing, but I just love that special tone and coil quality of the Silver Sky's
I love both! They have different feels and voices. The glassy contained delicacy of the SS is gorgeous. And the wild embellishments of the fender pups ... wouldn’t give those up either 🙌🏼☀️
Don’t buy a player the fingerboard wood is absolute crap! Looses coulour feels dry after a couple of days, oil does not help at all. The PRS not at all it’s rosewood, big difference here. Apart from that, the PRS is a much better value in general. To me it feels better, sounding better, easy playing comfortable, experience, better sustain, sounding better not amped fuller sounding, amped clean or distorted in general more even sounding, consitant balanced tone on all pickup positions, staying in tune miles ahead to the fender. It’s a gourgous strat experience built for the future. I highly recommend the PRS SS SE
Very good head to head. Is there that much difference in build quality? Some say the players series is a very close copy of the discontinued standard line.
Both guitars are built very well but they are different machines. The Player line replaced the Standard line. I wouldn't call it a copy because there are a few tweaks to it.
I really enjoyed the video. The tone comparison in the various pickup positions was very helpful. I'd probably go with the PRS because I'm so used to Fenders that something new, but still familiar, would be cool.
I don't even need to watch this to know the SS SE will win as far as tuning stability and sound.Difficult coparison though because the prs has a much thicker neck, and the fender would probably be easier to play because of thinner neck and easier radius. But i'll watch anyway
Yeah but at the end the se silver sky costs 999 euros and the player now costs 659 one year ago the cost was 570 for the player. I would go with the player.
That's very interesting. We are here in the US and were comparing these 2 because they are the same exact price in US dollars. I'm sorry that doesn't translate the same where you are located.

It wasn’t meant to replicate a Stratocaster? I guess it’s just a coincidence.😂

PRS does not do Fender better than fender, Gibson maybe.
@@salsabilahmedshrestho960Yea nobody can screw up like Fender.

I completely agree in a perfect world both would be the correct answer!
for those small hand, which one most comfort?

Well, I'm a lefthanded player, so the PRS isn't an option for me. But regardless, I prefer the sound and the look of the Fender.
Lefty are out now...and on sale! Mine coming in a few days. Storm Gray.

I have a player with a maple neck. The dark neck is a dealbreaker on the Strat.
Great video. Thanks.
PRS sounds more wide and rounded, Consider it's a facelift of fender strat

Good choice. Thanks for watching.
Look how much better that rosewood neck looks. Gotta fix that fender.

@@YandasMusic it’s strange how it worked out, in the U.K. the silver sky is directly priced with the vintera series strats
@@tomgreen708 currently £499 at a reputable store!
The Silver Sky kills the Strat in every way !
That PRS has one ugly headstock.
lol dude on left is so unprepared.
