2 years ago, we started the season with Baker Mayfield under Center, Christian McCaffrey lined up behind him, and DJ Moore out wide. We gave Mayfield away for free, and then we had Sam Darnold under center (who went 4-2 with the Panthers and won his debut yesterday in Minnesota). There's a pretty good chance that by the time this season is done, Darnold will have more wins in those 6 games than Bryce Young has as a starter for 2 years. We basically gave up 2 starting QBs, arguably the best RB in the game, and a number 1 WR, for Bryce Young, who will be lucky to still be playing by the end of his rookie deal. ESPN Power Rankings have the Panthers are 32, and somehow that still feels high.
Thought about this a lot on Sunday into my eighth or so be'ar. We legit had or COULD have had 6-7 QBs in the building who would be upgrades over Bryce on Day One. Hell, I'd take goofy Will Levis (who could be Terry Bradshaw Mk. II on the extreme upside; go look at Terry's early stats. Yikes.) over Bryce, so maybe eight. But no. Bryce was a witty and charming dinner guest for Tepper and his trophy wife. Done and done.
I wouldn’t be surprised that when the panthers release young he thrives in another team.. the team needs more then just a qb like Patrick mahomes, ain’t pulling this team out the mud. They need to build up their line both o line and d line then get skill positions and then wait for a qb

Panthers also played their stud DL Derrick Brown for 91% of the snaps and he's now on injured reserve. That game was over in the first half - there was no reason to keep him in the game. It was the first game of the season with full contact...he got his reps in...just take him out and give the backups some playing time. It's decisions like this that just compound the problem.

Panthers also played their stud DL Derrick Brown for 91% of the snaps and he's now on injured reserve. That game was over in the first half - there was no reason to keep him in the game. It was the first game of the season with full contact...he got his reps in...just take him out and give the backups some playing time. It's decisions like this that just compound the problem.
As someone who lives in Charlotte…this owner has torn up it down to the foundation. He traded and cut the culture of the panthers. It lost it identity and it’s bc tepper fires and and fires
