Yes that's true you are correct, But you didn't see Jesus partake in what the tax collector was doing, Or what the prostitute was doing, He just hung with them to proclaim the good news. I know that alot of "christians" use the "we are called to be seperate from the world" thing. Lecrae makes awesome music with real, different messages. I come to Lecrae because I dont find the whole "praise Jesus he is so good" typical music as relateable. Its real music about real life with real struggles. The 11 6 guys have gotten me closer with the Lord than average worship music.
I used to not like Christian rap because I didn't think that it was spiritually "appropriate" but one of my friends that grew up in Church and later recieved Christ found Christian rap like Lecrae as a sign of hope that God is actually relatable. Actually analyze his music to see what he saying before you go and start mouthing off. Dont go looking for wrong stuff because that's exactly what your going to get in the long run...the wrong stuff. Listen first. Think about it. Respond after.
Christians don't respond to stupidity with stupidity. Tell them straight up what they said was wrong and explain. Don' start cussing at the person who cussed because it just shows your wrong just as they are. Pray for these people and let them know about the goodness of God. Many people are freaking out saying "Has he forgot Jesus?" or "I remember when his songs were about Jesus and the forgiveness of sins...". You have been blinded by the simple mention of drugs and alcohol in a rap song that you can't even see that every mention of them is a negative one. As Christians, we can't pretend that drugs and alcohol aren't part of our society. If we do, then we ignore those who need God's salvation the most! How are we to witness and set an example if we aren't even near those who will watch us?
The scripture says, “All of God’s promises are yes and amen.” When God puts a promise in your heart and you believe it, you have the yes. Now, find the amen, someone to agree with you.
It is amazing now people can criticize and tear apart such a good song. No it may not have violins and organs, but it is reaching the young generation where they are. Christians get this so twisted. We weren't called to keep the gospel to ourselves-we were called to share it and share gods love. What Lecrae is doing is meeting the people where they are. The bible says to go into all the world-not just parts of it. Even if you couldn't catch it in the lyrics, when he turns up the song at the end it's clear he is still trying to get their attention-to show them that you can be happy, and have fun without the alcohol, drugs and sex. After that, the next step is introducing them to Jesus. Shoving a bible in someone's face is not going to reach this generation. Don't be so uptight people.

I know that alot of "christians" use the "we are called to be seperate from the world" thing. Lecrae makes awesome music with real, different messages. I come to Lecrae because I dont find the whole "praise Jesus he is so good" typical music as relateable. Its real music about real life with real struggles. The 11 6 guys have gotten me closer with the Lord than average worship music.

I used to not like Christian rap because I didn't think that it was spiritually "appropriate" but one of my friends that grew up in Church and later recieved Christ found Christian rap like Lecrae as a sign of hope that God is actually relatable.
