I loved this game. It had the best of all the Myst engines. I wasn't too crazy about the puzzles in this though and this was one of the first Myst games I needed help with them, but the story was worth it. That ending was great.
That part where Atrus told us to make sure Yeesha did her homework, not knowing she had disappeared, had me like "Aye, hehe, uh, no problem Atrus, I got it covered! Hehehe _hangs up_ hehehuhuhuh he's gonna kill me..."
The whole concept of inserting actors into video games seemed to have died out in the mid to late 90's. I don't even think it was a thing. But the Myst series did a great job of it. I think players didn't really need to interact with actual humans in these types of games.. Just flash forward 10+ years with the Far Cry series and the beautiful rendition of all those NPC characters and bad dudes.
These kinds of games were fun and classical PC gaming. I think there's one game called riddles of the Sphinx it has the same thing as Myst point and click and you can die in the game. The 90's and early 2000's has that kind of things.
This is a great concept, but not showing any of the journals means you miss stuff. By the time you get to Achenar's lake house, the most pivotal story point of the entire game is simply skipped. Again, I think the concept of this is smart and some of it is executed brilliantly, but if you're really trying to direct a movie based on this, you need to include more cutscenes and journals.
8:52 Oh, I'll take care of Yeesha just fine. And don't rush yourself for the tools and supplies, after all you wouldn't want to get hurt on this critical task, right? Yeesha, come here sweetie and sit on Uncle Randyl's lap and we have some important business to discuss before Daddy gets back.
@@randylplampin1326 ...y'know, maybe it's because I was more focused on the game's story two months ago, but this comment suddenly looks vastly more creepy.

Wow, I don't remember Spire giving me such terrible vertigo.

i miss the live action and 3d mix cutscenes
Journeyman Project was another great series with actors filmed into it! I honestly miss when this was common
Idk if its the noostalgia but the myst series have some of the best sf aesthetics, ever.
I love the use of the World of Warcraft theme at the beginning!
Thanks for this. 😁
50:41 I hated that Puzzle, was NEVER able to figure it out.
6:30 "close both emergency release gates"
normal people have emergency circuit breakers. Atrus has an emergency waterfall release.
Thanks
My main idea for a fix in the game is set a variety of solutions for Haven like there are in Spire. There is no need to return on second play.
I think myst 3 exile is the best in the series.
How is it that the little girl is a better actor than anyone else in the game?

I totally get you but this is perfect for somebody who isn't a hardcore Myst fan. For me, it's this or nothing.
Ovi. Are you still active on TH-cam? Please respond if you are.
are these actually real time graphic, I think the pre rendered riven one is better in my opinion
Of course it’s not real time. No real time graphics really look this good.
Dream is weird , the song is akward , 😂👏
Have anyone played this on Xbox series x?
It's not compatible with the series x,

10 minutes later: ...oh, Atrus and Catherine are gonna kill me when they find out she's gone. I'm the worst uncle ever!
What the hell

Lighten up. Its just a facetious comment, dude.
