Fantastic band. It’s was a time when music was shifting quickly. Many bands had no idea in which direction to go. Grunge was taking over and no one had a clue what the next step was. Political bullshit killed this band. By the hand of the lyricist or record companies caving. Either or ...their first 3 albums were awesome!,!

MishlshPee!, This crowd was like nothing I'd ever experienced at a hard rock/heavy metal gig. I could not believe it.

tony alves could you tell me why they hated Clarke ?

Sorry for not responding sooner. First question. The crowd hated Warrior Soul. Part was Queensrÿche was the headliner. They wanted nothing to do with the band. And Kory made sure the crowd knew he wasn't just gonna take it and play through the shit that was going on. I mean I was in the photo pit for the first 3 songs at least. I was right there. Song 4, "Punk & Belligerent, what's he say after announcing the song? "Fuck Bush"!!! George Sr. Who Bill Clinton would defeat in the presidential election the following year. This crowd was so awful and full of shit, if Nirvana had opened the show, same crowd reaction. I was so pissed when Kori left the stage. Because that night was the only time seeing Warrior Soul for me. And they were afraid of Kori. He wasn't going to kiss up and play nice to these dickheads. Hope that answers your question's.
      Take care, Tony Alves

tony alves maybe part of it was cos they hated Clarke's political rants onstage? would it have been any different if he'd not done that?

I was at this concert. After he said "Fuck Bush" a crowd of pro-military dudes (after all, the Cow Palace is more Daly City than San Francisco) rushed up front to taunt and heckle him. You can see Kory reacting to them during the guitar solo. He ended up yelling back and after another song finally just yelled "FUCK YOU" and stormed off, followed one by one by the band. I didn't know much about WS at the time but the next day I went out and bought DG&NR CD and have been a fan ever since. When Geoff Tate came out and everybody was cheering as QR performed Operation Mindcrime, he said "Some of you really don't get it, do you?"

Mindcrime sends the same message, just a little more subtle, but they both were sending similar ideas!

I saw this show in '91 in Halifax and they took my head off...Kory came running out yelling "Fuck Bush Fuck Bush"...I have loved them ever since..unreal energy..Mark Evans has passed and Johnny Rico is a pilot now, not sure what Pete McClanahan is doing but Kory still rocks. Legendary band that ended way too soon.

@@peteandurnot Yes, but when I wrote my comment he was still with us! I was so lucky to have seen the original lineup live in 1991 in Halifax NOva Scotia, when they opened for Queensryche and they were so fucking good! That concert changed my life! Epic band that got screwed by David Geffen! tragic

@ToddTheJoker I got to see them in 1994 during the Space Age Playboys era. John Ricco and Mark Evans were no longer part of the band but Pete McClanahan was still there. The original lineup didn't tour Europe that often, unfortunately, so I didn't get to see that.

I was shooting Warrior Soul at this Cow Palace show. The crowd were fucking mostly preppie dickheads, who wanted no part of Kory Clarke, and Warrior Soul. Shit I'm surprised they played that long.
