Once upon a time I was in a residential for troubled kids going through mental illness and couldnt be helped at their homes. It was drizzling and we were coming back from the art room I believe, I was late for art as I had a therapy session and didnt get to participate in the activity like the other kids, so I made a paper hat. I flaunted it to the other kids and revolved myself around this hat for the remainder of the time in the room. On our way back the rain had become heavy and I jokingly started telling everyone to make haste like the captain of some ship, one of the employees saw this and slapped the hat jokingly off my head, saying "Mannn. Get that shit outa ere" I watched my hat dampen in the wet sloppy ground. Ruined. I still remember that moment to this day with annoyance. Its a core memory now. I liked that hat..

Spiritual enlightenment is independent of will or faith. How many faithful are lost in dogmas? Enlightenment finds you when you are ready, based on your divine self programming. All you can do is survive and hope the enlightenment is part of the plan for this incarnation. If you live and die without achieving enlightenment is because this was the best plan for your current incarnation and not because you failed in some way. There are no mistakes and no failures. Things are as you wanted them to be before you came here. It might not make sense now but it sure did before you were incarnated. Positive thinking make the experience less painful but does not help you to progress spiritually. Do not avoid the experience regardless of how painful it is because the most important asset you get out of it is the pure emotion. And pure emotion is the alchemists gold that feeds the enlightenment.
