I was there the day this was recorded. 1-19th at Sand Hill. Don't remember the specific company, think it was Bravo. I don't remember the name of the drill sergeant calling cadence either. All I can remember is that it was sometime in the evening after Chow. Probably late summer 2002... it was around the same time that 'we were soldiers' was being filmed at Benning. At that time I was working in the Charlie Company office.
This is the one that was a n the Gatorade commercial. The Drill Sergeant is now CSM Lamont Christenson. He was the CSM at the Drill Sergeant Academy in 2014 when I went through. Had the opportunity to run with him singing this during a battalion run.
At 30th AG rn, stuck here from November 16th to January 15th because Covid is delaying people's ships. Just sitting around and doing nothing all day everyday

Fort Benning (Sand Hill in particular) is always going to hold a special place in my heart. Keep your body prepared for downrange and don't be a blue falcon. "Meeting the challenge" doesn't always mean that you get to slack off at the 30th and get all lazy and fat. Be hungry for that blue chord... your time will come. Until then, 2-5... GO! (For old times sake) If by some MIRACLE you don't know what that means yet, show this post to your drill sergeant... I have faith he will indulge me. And one final thing scrotum head... Much respect to the men singing this and its actual context of training soldiers. Just needed this because I get a sense of cool calm and colllected at the same time that it makes me feel like I can do or tackle anything.

Love these cadences! Brings back great memories of Ft. Leonard Wood 20 years ago. In addition to being motivating, the cadence rhythm helps you keep a consistent breathing pattern during your run, preventing side stitches.
This takes me back to ft. Benning. Feeling like you’re on your last ounce of energy. Your whole body is aching. Then they start calling this cadence and all of a sudden you’re just floating, like someone hit the reset button, and you’re part of the train that is your unit breaking through the barriers. Unstoppable
If you've ever done service time and made it past Phase 1: Wear a belt, and blouse your boots. Put a watch on your wrist and go for a run listening to this. It really hits different and helps you overcome the pain of not being in anymore. The sensation itself helps reground me to reality.
We need more. I was 82nd back in the late 90s. Now I'm door to door sales. And I listen to these to pump me up and make the sale! I like it, I love it, I need some more of it!

They exist on all professions and not just soldiers...and I salute the lot of ya that had to put down hard work way beyond the line of duty or reason to do your work properly, and not just do whatever and let someone else handle it, you guys are what keep the world turning! I can remember Drill Sgt Jeter (A/2/46, Fort Knox Kentucky, 1994), pumping us up with this cadence on PT runs. I hated running, but I felt like I could run all day with this and the other cadences he sang.
As a 21 year old 5’7 220lbs I struggle to run or march for a couple of minutes but when I started listening to this ARMY March I can run about 14 minutes straight I DON’T KNOW HOW but there’s something about this Sargents voice lol but amma keep doin it

As a 21 year old 5’7 220lbs I struggle to run or march for a couple of minutes but when I started listening to this ARMY March I can run about 14 minutes straight I DON’T KNOW HOW but there’s something about this Sargents voice lol but amma keep doin it
